Question about Neville lack of visible muscle mass

His brother never muscled up like Cessar did and had acmediocre career. He just seems to be slow and plodding, unlike someone with dexterity. I stand by my opinion. He he mimics his brother, he will never be in wrestling shape. Several others in the league will pay the price and beat him.

*sigh*

Nick was 69-17 in his PSU career, and a 2X AA. Pretty damn far from ‘mediocre’.

Ha! Not Grip or a troll. She's posted on the football board for a while. She's just putting her opinion out there. One of my favorite cartoons as a kid was GI Joe. Anyone remember? "Knowing is half the battle". She will learn over time just like the rest of us.

Nick Nevills tore a pectoral muscle working out which delayed the start of his first season and had a broken foot delay the start of his second season. He tried to come back late his freshman year after the pectoral tear for the team to try and qualify a heavyweight for the NCAA tournament and came up short. Seth too has been thrown into the lineup a year early for the good of the team. No complaints here with either one.

So what you're saying is that she or "she" is a crank.

Well, that's a relief.

Lol. Maybe she just doesn't like plump looking dudes?:p I try to give everyone a chance (or two). If she continues to watch wrestling maybe her opinion will shift?

Mary...learn about wrestling...I recommend looking up Ben Askren, Bo Nickal and David Taylor. None had the physique of a god while whooping up on just about everyone they faced in college.

That's called doubling down when the dealer is showing an ace and you're sitting on 15. Folks are trying to be nice by pointing out that i) not everyone has the same body type, and ii) most top heavyweights don't have sculpted bodies.

Come on guys. Let's just be nice. My guess is whomever the poster behind the tag "Marylovesthelions" is he/she just can't help the way they come across. Stupid asswipes gotta be stupid asswipes. It is who they are and what they do.

Not being nasty, disrespectful or anything like that. Just saying.

Let me know when you're getting ready to be nasty or disrespectful. I just want to get out of the way.:p

You had to double down didn’t you. I can read the headline now, “Four time California state wrestling champ will never be in wrestling shape” says internet wrestling message board poster.

How high are you?

Her opinions on the football board are equally as insufferable as they are here.

New to this hoard. Wrestling was very big at Warren PA in the 1950s and 1960s. My cousins wrestled and the gym was full. I was stunned to notice that Nevills has zero muscle definition. I realize that he may have been injured. He is not in wrestling shape. He showed little dexterity and control of his body. He needs extensive strength conditioning and nutrition guidance to gain strength and dexterity. He will be good but he will never be a champion until his will to win prods him to get in wrestling shape. I hope that just being good enough is not his future at State.

Mary,

What part of Warren? I am originally from Starbrick. Wait a sec... my mother's name is Mary. Is this you mom?

One of the strongest high school athletes I ever knew for his size (PIAA champion, multi time state place winner, insane bench press for a teen) did not look like Ronnie Coleman. There are different body types and some people are deceiving.

Exactly. I went to school with the second strongest man in WV ever, to Phil Pfister who won the worlds strongest man, and he was 5'11 280 and barrel chested. He actually won states as a jr barely having any wrestling practice at all. Ran a 4.7. Should of been a legit small d1 fb prospect but he was soft as charmin. It was very strange. Just couldn't get him to get mean or flip that switch.
In the weight room tho there was no one close to his equal. 500lb bench, 800lb squad. Nevills has some room to grown but he doesn't look bad, body wise, for a young HW at all. Imo

Welcome to the "Hoard"., Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. How and where you share them is entirely up to you.
I'm not certain what you hope to achieve by making critical comments about a 19/20 year old true freshman thrust into a starting role earlier than planned. It seems so blatantly and intentionally negative.
Posting these comments on the home team's fan board seems …..what is the word.....well...brilliant it is not. :)

Now that JTS has a new crush to satisfy his cougar fetish, I’m surprised this train wreck hasn’t been locked.

I think Spencer said in an Askren interview he doesn't lift weights even. He works out using his body weight, like dips, pull ups, pushups and core workouts but he couldn't tell you the last time he touched a bench press. He doesn't look particularly physical imposing either (he's toned but compare him to NATO or Suriano)

Not a pro wrestling fan but Harley Race was supposed to be a major badass back in the day outside of the ring with insane grip and natural strength. No one supposedly messed with him and he wasn’t cut.

Mary's opinions have obviously been overly influenced by the paintings of Frank Frazetta.

It would be instructive if she were to look at some photos of former Olympic gold medal winners and record holders Paul Anderson and Vasily Alexeyev.

The list of those who are jacked and “in wrestling shape” and never stood on the podium, let alone be a champion, is putridly long.

Good luck with your opinion. It doesn’t work here. Adam Coon and his Adonis physique might want to have a word with you.

Not at home right now to look. There was an article in WIN Magazine about all body types and success in wrestling. I know this is about heavyweight, but couldn't we make this about all weight classes.

Doubt any of us could pick a DT, ER, Zain, Jason, Bo, Anthony ... and on and on, out of a line-up before they were a star, and say "that guys going to rock college wrestling" just by the way they look. So many factors go into making a dominant (or is it dominate :)) wrestler.

Use your own examples (there's plenty), I went straight to Rulon Gardner vs Alexander Karelin.
