Still trying to grasp the fact this team could play in the Big Ten title game and also can play in Rose Bowl. Let me start with the premise that the best thing that can happen to PSU football is to play in the Rose Bowl. IMHO that would be incredible for the program and for recruiting. Question - in a weird way is it better for PSU to not play in the Big title game?
Here is the thought process. First, obviously if we beat Wiscy then it's moot as that outcome is the best thing for PSU football. But let's say OSU beats UM and we lose to Wiscy. Where do we end up? Probably OSU is in the 4 team playoff, Wiscy is in the Rose Bowl and UM is next in line for a bid with PSU being 4th. Not sure where that puts us but I assume one of the FL bowl games against an SEC team.
Conversely, if UM beats OSU and Wiscy they play in the 4 team playoff, we go the Rose Bowl ahead of OSU, Wiscy is not a factor with 3 losses. Thoughts?
