Interesting to ponder. The vast majority of Joe's accomplishments were before he was in the BIG, but he still comes in at number 8 in BIG wins.

You would have to add Amos Alonzo Stagg in there somewhere.

True. I only stuck to coaches from the 1960s and beyond. Otherwise, would definitely need to add Stagg.

If we're talking a coach's entire career, then it's hard to deny Joe the #1 spot.

If we're talking only Big Ten, then Joe from 1993-2011 was a great coach but not what he was in the 70s and 80s. In Big Ten play, he was 95-54 in 19 years, with 3 Big Ten titles and 2 top-5 seasons. Definitely good stuff......but far from GOAT numbers.

In contrast, Jim Tressel was 66-14 in Big Ten play, 7 Big Ten titles and 7 top-5 teams in 10 years, and three natty appearances (winning one of them).
