Uh, oh. Ohowihate faithful around here said no chance he would leave them.

I always thought that he would. He strikes me as the kind of kid who will either start immediately or leave. Word is he was also homesick. He is from Texas, not Ohio.Uh, oh. Ohowihate faithful around here said no chance he would leave them.

What a f n douche bag the kid is. And yes, I would be saying same thing if that happened with one of our players in same scenario.
#blessedplease respect his decision
Suzie Wongs Eggroll looking to underwrite his NILO$U must not have paid him enough!
Big Oil is calling him home!!!
Drill baby drill!
Does that mean OSU puts the full court press (via coaches and the media) to try to flip Allar?
The company that paid him can’t be happy.....which is good. Maybe companies will be more cautious throwing big money at 19 yr olds.Really? Almost every OSU person I know was afraid that him enrolling early was bad because he'd have to sit behind Stroud for 2 years instead of 1 and wouldn't have the patience for it. They were right.
He skipped senior year of HS, made $1 million in NIL bucks, and transferred when he wasn't given the job. This is the new college football.

Bwahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!
Who could have ever predicted?
Texas commit needed a temporary parking place outside of Texas to collect a $1m endorsement deal...then gets out of dodge ASAP.
Also, this sh*t is what will lead to the demise of the P5. Get ready for the eventual P1 and the Group of X.
I thought that commit was for a 2023 QB ,and thats why I thought they might press to flip Allar.. Thanks for clarifying. They just got a commit from a top-50 QB in the 2022 class -- ranked similarly to Allar. No chance they pursue Allar at this point unless Allar reaches out -- and he won't.
They have already picked up the uSC kid , and the Utah HS prospectDoes that mean OSU puts the full court press (via coaches and the media) to try to flip Allar?
I really doubt Allar winds up at OSU. OSU just got a 2022 commitment from the #4 QB in the class. Unlikely they would take another QB. Besides, it is tough to start at QB at OSU as Ewers found out. The Buckeyes need D, not more QB's.They just got a commit from a top-50 QB in the 2022 class -- ranked similarly to Allar. Only if he prayed on it.please respect his decision
Humm. I wonder if the Texas booster starting a $10M NIL fund had anything to do with it. Just maybe OSU boosters are not up to the task.
OSU will be loaded on offense as long as Day is there and will stack top 100 QBs - that not the problem. The issue, as you mentioned is that PUTRID defense and until they figure that out, they'll always be beatable by upper level B1G teams.I really doubt Allar winds up at OSU. Great info - didn't know all of the details but it sounds like he has to find a team that he can start on to get the money. Makes a lot of sense nowApparently the story is this.
Ewers signed a million dollar NIL deal with a kombucha company. However, the company has a provision stating that Ewers MUST start X number of games by the 2022 season. When it became clear that Stroud was the man and no way Ewers was going to pass him -- and wasn't even guaranteed he'd pass up Kyle McCord -- Ewers bolted. Apparently Ewers even asked for that guarantee and was told no.

Crazy.
Follow up question , does his team have to be OSU or a designated team to cash the check ?Great info - didn't know all of the details but it sounds like he has to find a team that he can start on to get the money. Makes a lot of sense now
Doubt if the contract holds should he transfer. Can you say ‘renegotiate’?Great info - didn't know all of the details but it sounds like he has to find a team that he can start on to get the money. Makes a lot of sense now
Read NittanyIllinois' post. His $1.4 million deal was with one company. The kid received nothing from local Columbus businesses. I found the company to be GT Sports Marketing out of NJ.Ewers was signed to a million dollar NIL deal given cars/trucks from local businesses. Now he skipped town. Wonder how all those businesses feel about losing out on the PR, autographs, promotions? With the portal in place buyer beware.
The vehicle was a free lease, they are going back. The million from the kombucha company was for starting like 8 games by 2022. Dude lost it all, but will actually get paid in Texas.Ewers was signed to a million dollar NIL deal given cars/trucks from local businesses. Now he skipped town. Putrid? That seems a little extreme.OSU will be loaded on offense as long as Day is there and will stack top 100 QBs - that not the problem. The issue, as you mentioned is that PUTRID defense and until they figure that out, they'll always be beatable by upper level B1G teams.
Problem with enrolling early was that he had no fellow recruit class members to bond with. When Day was asked one time whether Ewers would play, he said it wasn't possible because Ewers was just getting familiar with the facilities.Really? Ewers reps apparently are now disputing this. https://forums.theozone.net/messages/913623.htmlApparently the story is this.

You edumacated me. I had to look up kombucha. Now I am enlightened.Apparently the story is this.

Him enrolling early pretty much guaranteed that either he or multiple other QBs (like McCord) would never see the field there. I will say -- kudos to Ryan Day for keeping Ewers 3rd/4th string if in fact he didn't deserve anything higher. Can't let NIL deals or egos dictate playing time.Problem with enrolling early was that he had no fellow recruit class members to bond with. When Day was asked one time whether Ewers would play, he said it wasn't possible because Ewers was just getting familiar with the facilities.
Smart KidReally? Almost every OSU person I know was afraid that him enrolling early was bad because he'd have to sit behind Stroud for 2 years instead of 1 and wouldn't have the patience for it. They were right.

There system in the Ryan Day era seems to use a QB to 'play catch' with their stable of top receivers, which works 90% of the time. Top defenses, like Nebraska, Penn State, and Michigan, give them trouble, and the game is decided by either the opposition having a far inferior and incapable offense (more so with Nebraska) or bouncing balls or calls going their way (Penn State). Pretty much the entire OSU team got surprised, didn't respond, and folded. A truly star quarterback would be a bonus, and maybe get them over the top, but I think many of such players would fall asleep or get into bad habits simply playing catch during 90% of their games. They just got a commit from a top-50 QB in the 2022 class -- ranked similarly to Allar. No chance they pursue Allar at this point unless Allar reaches out -- and he won't.
We'll that solves that. The question is who is upper level? Day has only lost once to a B1G team.OSU will be loaded on offense as long as Day is there and will stack top 100 QBs - that not the problem. The issue, as you mentioned is that PUTRID defense and until they figure that out, they'll always be beatable by upper level B1G teams.
