Quinn Kessenich inspires me........

to be a better person. Because I truly believe he will be there to stick a mike in our face at the gates of hell.

I feel bad for him. I think he does a pretty good job, but its thankless to chase these exhausted kids or listen to Kyle Dake's insufferable comments without laughing.

Agree. It's really an awful job. The athletes are exhausted and/or still amped up, and Quin's job is to chase them down and ask inane questions. I've said it before, but most of these post-match "interviews" are awful, and just a bad idea to begin with.

Why the hell can't they set up an interview after the wrestler has had a chance to catch a breather and throw on a t-shirt or something? The "immediate" interview following the match doesn't add credibility. It just seems like a bad set up.

I am a great admirer of Kyle Dake's talent, but can't stand his personality.

That being said, he gave PSU more credit than the vast majority of the Iowa fans. He not only said that Cael got blue chips...BUT, he also gave credit to Cael for coaching them up. So he earned more of my respect through that interview that nobody wanted to see...

Quint is all right in my book. Seems to take his assignment in stride and doesn't take himself too seriously. I think he does a fine job in less than ideal circumstances.

I know all these interviews are irritating to hardcore wrestling fans, but I kind of appreciate what ESPN is trying to do.

First of all the are airing all 6 sessions, that alone gets kudos from me. Second though, they are trying to build interest in the sport. I think these sideline interviews are an attempt to reach the non-hardcore fan. Whether or not it's working I have no idea, but I will give the them benefit of doubt.

So anyhow, if you missed anything, every match is archived on WATCH ESPN. Also, if you haven't done this before, I invite you to tune in to 'Off The Mat' segment on ESPN 3 tonight. It's not a play by play accounting of the action, but do you really need that? It's just a bunch of knowledgeable guys watching the finals, along with you, while they talk about wrestling.

And you KNOW they are going to "kid shill o mite" during Nickal/Dean. That's why I got Iron head cued and ready and the mute button on.
