Eunice. Now there's a name you don't hear too much anymore...

1940 -- it was the 202nd most popular name in the USA. It's been going down since then. Some examples:

1950 -- 332nd most popular
1960 -- 533rd most popular
1970 -- 762nd most popular
1980 -- 873rd most popular
1981 -- 998th most popular
1988 -- 841st most popular
1990 -- 928th most popular
1995 -- 894th most popular

Since 1996, it has not been in the top 1,000 most popular female names in the USA.

The above data is from the Social Security database.

Ursala Andress was the first Bond girl.

a statement like that, without any context, offers nothing to the discussion.

In the 1st Bond film, Dr. No, Eunice Gayson played Sylvia Trench, Zena Marshall played Miss Taro, and Ursula Andress played Honey Ryder. Bond met Sylvia Trench in the movie at the London club, Le Cercle. The film's producers planned to make her Bond's girlfriend, and have her appear in the first six films, but she only appeared in the 1st two, Dr. No and From Russia with Love. Miss Taro encountered Bond at Government House in Kingston, Jamaica. She was actually a double agent working for Dr. No, and attempted to kill Bond. Honey Ryder was a shell diver that Bond encountered on the shores of Crab Key, an island owned by Dr.No., and where he housed his radio jamming activities against the US Space Program. Both Sylvia Trench and Honey Ryder got involved with Bond in the film. Andress's role as Honey Ryder (or the bikini she was wearing when she meets Bond) is the most remembered of the aforementioned 3 women from Dr. No, but all 3 are considered Bond girls. Since Eunice Gayson was the first of the 3 to appear in the film, she can accurately be called the first Bond girl.

Good knowledge there, Tom. But notwithstanding her subsequent appearance in the film, I'll take Honey Ryder FTW.

Ms Grayson and Ms Andress were great. But for me, the ultimate Bond girl is always Diana Rigg. Like the Avengers, she was sui generis. Never figured out how to post pix, but here are links:

Amaing how GoT matched her up facial features and complexion with Nalaie Dormer, who played her granddaughter1
