...Stan passed away last Tuesday at the age of 88...
...a graduate of Washington HS in SW PA , Stan went on to wrestle for F & M in the late 40s-early 50s and was an EIWA champion...
...after college he was the coach at Bellefonte and then returned to coach Wash High in 1955 for several decades... and then at several other high schools in western PA... he was also a highly regarded referee for both high school and college matches...
...one of his sons- Michael - wrestled for Penn State in the early 70s...
... he will be deeply missed by his many wrestlers and friends...

He coached for Plum in the 80's. Don't know if I ever met anyone who knew more wrestling than Stan. He demanded a lot from his wrestlers and would do anything for them. Outside the wrestling room, he was one of the nicest people you could meet. And if you went anywhere with him, you had to add an hour to your agenda since everyone wanted to talk to him! So many, including myself, were lucky to have known him. RIP Coach.
