The flag, that is. Not a cheese steak, or.......

Good to get a win.

It's great that A.J. seems to perform better with the Pirates than he did with the other PA team. I believe the announcers said that he set the club record for starts at the beginning of the season giving up 2 or less runs, with 8.

He's their Ace now.

I didn't watch any of the game today. I have, at least for now, lost interest. I see, over the past 10, while the Cards lost 6, we lost 5, gaining 1 game. Yes, it's only May, but this team will likely give that game back, and more, next week. Maybe I expected too much and maybe the season is just too damn long. For now, I'll watch an occasional game, hope they win more than they lose, and spend my free time reading books.

Cole was the NL pitcher of the month for April, so they really have had two "aces". Cole has 5 wins and could have won all of his starts, as AJ could have, if there was consistent run support. when the offense gets going a little better, the Bucco's can get back over .500

The Bucs started slowly last year and then almost caught the Cardinals. Trouble is this year the Cubs are much better and the Pirates beat up on them last year. The Reds are likely about the same as last year. The main issue is whether the Pirates have enough hitting to contend with either the Cards, or Cubs IMO. JHay is likely to not be as productive, Cutch is off to a very slow start and losing Russell Martin was also a pretty big deal IMO. I'm also not sold on Malancon as the closer, but overall its a solid bullpen if the starters stay healthy and hold up over the long 162 game schedule that is Major League Baseball. Beat em Bucs !

Burnett is a tough SOB. Pretty obvious that he was hurt last year with the hernia. Guy is 39 or 40 and still has lots of gas left. ERA is microscopic. Still has the strikeout pitch.

Unfortunately Polanco is giving the Pirates nothing and first base (which is an extra base/power/RBI position for everybody else) is a bottomless abyss. Mercer looks like he's found a new home on the very end of the bench. Good thing we got the mystery man from the Korean League.

Too many zeroes in the lineup unless something radical changes and but quick.

Lol you do realize he had like a $9Million Dollar incentive to pitch hurt last year don't you? He wasn't exactly pitching for the love of the game
