I know this seems like a "duh" move but some rumors of him missing Arizona (and Sunkist having a great club) and maybe being interested in MMA led to doubts he would stick around.

I wonder why he didn't try to make the World Team this year at 133. Next year is an Olympic year so he has to cut to 125 and face Gilmam, etal or bump up to 143 and face Nick Lee, Yianni, etal.
This makes me so happy! Was really hoping we hadn't seen his last wrestling match. I don't know--but it sounded like RBY was injured at NCAAs--could explain his absence from competetion this freestyle season--or maybe the dude just needed a break.
Sigh...when are we going to catch a break and start filling up the club with non-NCAA champs, non World Team members and non world medalists?!?!?
I have it on good authority that guys like this don't really train that much. This just continues the downward trend of our club, while "others" are pointing straight up!

Too much over recruiting at the NLWC. How can they possibly stagger the redshirts to make it all work? ;-)

According to Bob Nicolls, HWC room is still superior but this move closes NLWC gap on them.
Could Gilman hand the torch to RBY, if he cuts, after 2024 Olympics? Just like Dake will pass it off to Nolf and Taylor will pass it to Brooks. Burroughs will do the same with CStar. Lee and Zain are already there. Kerk is waiting in the wings, too. 2025 World team could have seven Nits on it… all part of the Dominate the World plan

I sat with one of the wresler's family during the April banquest and this topic came up and they said they wreslte each other all the time. I asked if they worked one style or the other when they wresle and they indicated they switch between free and folk.

If it is spewing from Bob's mouth and the subject is wrestling, you automatically know it is wrong. He is either lying or showcasing his wrestling IQ, which is low.
Does this mean he is committed to FS? I didn't think he was long for the wrestling world after he graduated.

I asked Mark McKnight about it at WTT in Colorado Springs. He made it sound as if he didn’t know for sure but heard Mexico 57kg. He acknowledged the brutalness of he cut.
