I was working to try and confirm more prospects yesterday but struck out. I'm sure we'll learn Sunday that a few others were on campus this weekend, but as of now, these are the prospects I've confirmed. I've had most of these players confirmed for the past day or two, but I did add 2021 RBs Rodney Hammond and Malik Newton from the Tidewater region in Virginia.
The most interesting visitor, to me, this weekend is 2021 TE Cane Berrong. The Georgia native has said before that he's very interest in the Lions.
"I grew up a Miami fan, but since I started playing tight end, I started watching the teams that use them a lot," said Berrong. "I really liked watching Mike Gesicki. He's the guy I try to play like. I even have his NFL combine numbers on my phone. I want to train to beat every one of them [numbers]. Also, the game day atmosphere, at least on TV, during the white out is amazing."
Berrong is staying overnight, so we'll reach out to him tomorrow evening. I also confirmed with Isaiah Raikes this morning that he has made the trip. He actually just arrived in State College. Raikes is only staying for the day, so I'll do my best to get some feedback from him this evening.
