I expect someone from Rivals to speak with Walker at some point in the coming days. However, for now, I'm just linking Marc Givler's notes via BuckeyeGrove.com

When talking about Walker and Javontae Jean-Baptiste, both of which were on campus this weekend, Givler said...

GIVLER: Still working on getting Rasheed Walker and Javontae Jean-Baptiste on the phone for an in-depth conversation on their visits. But I do not expect anything in the immediate future in terms of decisions from these two. Walker is slated to announce on Signing Day, February 7th. Jean-Baptiste does not have a set timetable but I've been told it is unlikely to go down in the next couple of days.

There is optimism that Ohio State did well with Walker this weekend and he did get to spend some of his visit with Isaiah Prince which I think was a good call by the OSU staff. With a decision date still a couple of weeks away, I'm more interested in what Walker is thinking a week from now, after things have digested. Sources close to Ohio State believe they have a real shot here but I didn't get the sense that anything was finalized his weekend. This could come down to in-home visits over the course of the next two weeks.

As I've said before I *think* Ohio State will take Jean-Baptiste, but I do not get the sense that it is a one-hundred percent formality. Nebraska has emerged recently as the top competition after JJB had a good visit to Lincoln last week and has connected with new head coach Scott Frost. But it sounds to me from those that I've talked to, that JJB has been leaning towards OSU and I just think at the end of the day that it is more likely than not that this gets done.

Guys like Walker, Petit-Frere, Surtain, etc. are no-brainers for the coaching staff. Those aren't tough decisions and those are kids that you oversign if you have to and figure the rest out later. With the others, I am sure Ohio State would like as much time as possible to let the dominoes fall before being forced into a decision. I think this class ends up at 26 or 27.

As I mentioned, I expect either Givler or Friedman to get in touch with Walker at some point in the coming days. This is going to go to the wire.
