- I caught up with contacts this evening to ask about West Virginia OL Doug Nester following this weekend's trip to Ohio State.

From what I was told, he enjoyed his time in Columbus, but he did not reaffirm his commitment to the Buckeyes. He's still coming to Penn State this upcoming weekend and I still believe that the Lions are in a very good position to potentially flip his commitment. Of course, that's contingent on his parents approving of the campus and everything else this upcoming weekend, but all signs continue to point towards the Lions here. As I said before, I would like to make a prediction for Penn State if I could. Since he's technically still committed to Ohio State, Rivals' system won't let me do that, but I believe he's going to end up a Lion.

I also confirmed that Nester hosted both Ja'Juan Seider and new wide receiver coach Gerad Parker last night. I was told that both of Penn State's assistants were "waiting for him when he walked in the door," following his official visit to Ohio State. Parker is from Louisa, Kent., which is right across the border from Huntington, W.Va., so he has a lot of ties to that area. Parker also coached at Marshall with Seider, so they're both familiar with Spring Valley and Huntington. As most of you know by now, Seider's son, Jaden, is also friends with Doug. They grew up together while dad was coaching at Marshall.

But anyway, I was told that visit went well. On top of that, I was also told that Nester really hit it off with Caedan Wallace down at the All-America Game. The two just connected during their week in San Antonio and they've stayed in touch ever since. That's another reason why I feel good about Penn State here.

I also tried to get a feel for whether Doug would flip his commitment this upcoming weekend, if all goes well. I was basically told that there's a chance, but that he hasn't really thought about all of that yet. He just wants to go up there, show his parents everything, and then go from there. As of now, he is still scheduled to take an official visit to Virginia Tech that following weekend, but I continue to hear that the Hokies are well behind the Lions.
