- I spoke with 2019 Ath. Daequan Hardy this morning, who confirmed that he will take an official visit to Penn State this weekend. Hardy is yet to earn an offer, but the staff is interested in potentially changing that.
From what I was told, Franklin wants to get the opportunity to get to know Hardy before they make that move. He's been on campus before for the 7-on-7 tournament and games, but he hasn't really spent a personal day with the staff. I believe he was on campus for a spring practice back in April, but that's about it when it comes to one-on-one time with the staff. I was also told that they have some questions about his size. Hardy is listed at 5-10, 160 on Rivals. As you all know, PSU prefers taller DBs. He's a very good receiver, too, so that's something to watch.
So far, Hardy has taken official visits to Buffalo and Toledo. He's supposed to check out Akron Feb. 1-3, but I'll be very curious to see what happens if Penn State offers. If they do, I think there's a good chance he jumps on it. Pitt is also showing interest.
For those of you that watched the PIAA Championships, Hardy had a big-time performance against Manheim Central, scoring four touchdowns and adding three interceptions.
