Scott Reed of our Oregon site caught up with WR Solomon Enis out at the Opening and most of the article linked below centers around Penn State. The son of Penn State running back great Curtis Enis says he's planning his official visit to Penn State for the Indiana game Sept. 30, which is also the "Generations of Greatness" game. He's also hoping to make it back out for a visit in July.
Solomon Enis planning a couple Penn State visits
Highlighting a few of Enis' comments here:
- “The teams recruiting me the hardest right now are USC, Penn State and Arizona State. Oregon is coming on a little bit along with Cal and Tennessee. A lot of schools are still showing interest but Penn State, USC and ASU are definitely showing the most attention right now."
- “Talking to Coach Franklin and Coach Moorhead, they’re some people I like to be around. They let me feel like I can fit in their system and grow as a man off the field and on the field."
- “I want to take a couple of officials and then see what feels right and then probably make my decision. I definitely want to get to Oregon and check it out. I just need to figure it out with my family and see what works."
- His father's connections to PSU are "a plus most definitely, but at the same time, if it was another school, it’s not really going to bother me. It’s cool that my dad went there, but I want to go and make a name for myself too no matter where I go. If it’s at Penn State where he’s been and everyone knows that then it’s cool, but if its at a new place where I can make my own name, then that’s cool as well."

Reaction from DuckSportsAuthority.com: Right now Enis says that Penn State is the ‘leader in the clubhouse.’ He has been to Penn State on multiple unofficial visits, is planning another one in July, has only one official visit confirmed – to Penn State – so they will be incredibly difficult to beat for his commitment.
When we spoke to Curtis Enis earlier in the day, he told us that he is going to let Solomon make the decision. "I would love for him to go to Penn State. I love the school. The fans are so good to me. And win or lose, they still show up 107,00 strong every week, But the decision is his," he said.
The Ducks are not hurting at the position on this class, but we know that the (Oregon) staff is very high on Enis and would love to add him to the class. It might seem like a long shot at the moment, but keep an eye out on the July 29 event. Should Enis make it out for that, then the odds could improve dramatically.
