Tom, being an election year, in my eyes one of the most important in our country's history, I would like to ask you if we could dedicate one thread to this years elections. Thanks, john

I went there hoping some of you posted. I am interested in some of you guys leanings. CT posted one particular item that held my interest on here with no follow through. I would think we could keep one thread civil.

To put it as plain and simple as possible, I don't think people can keep political discussions civil. And in an election year like this one, where you have two candidates who are both very polarizing and both are truly despised by large segments of the population, civility just ain't happening.

You are probably right. Maybe just a poll. Dem- rep like the minnesota thread.

I worked in politics for 5 years and hate all those d-cks. Personally interacted with Billy Bush and dudes of his ilk in DC and loathe those entitled white frat-boy types that Trump represents, while also knowing pretty good sources on the left (Friends of Bill) who wouldn't piss on Hillary if she was on fire - these are hard-core Dems mind you.

The fact that our country of 320 million can only come up with 2 candidates like the ones we have is a travesty. It was almost as bad as 2004 when your candidates were not only extremely coddled and entitled rich boys who went to Yale, but also were members of Skull and Bones which may tap, what, about 20 guys a year? So, out of a pool of millions, your choice is one of two prep school guys out of a tiny pool of kleptocratic sociopaths.

I'm not wasting my time even voting and certainly don't want it further polluting this board.

Thanks, my initial question was answered.

Did I tell you how much I hated politics ;)

I may not have made it clear.

But seriously, Capitol Hill is an ethical cesspool beyond your wildest nightmare. Almost every single person who stayed up there for more than a decade that I know lost their ethical barometer - if it's good for their party, they don't question it.

My old boss told me about a few congressman who used to keep empty suit jackets on door hooks. When lobbyists walked in, they were supposed to drop envelopes of cash in there. The graft is more civilized now, but it's still going on.

keep that up and u will be my first ignore no emicons express my dislike for kanke
There aren't 5 good reasons to dislike Kanye West that aren't somehow developed from the media's agenda to make you hate him.

But the real CropDuster is running in 2032. I'm still working on slogans. Dumb Americans love slogans.

Seems as though I picked a good day to be off the board for several hours.

One of the few rules i have for this board, and for the BWI McAndrew board, is that politics and religion are not permitted. After Nov 2011, I modified the rule a bit on the BWI McAndrew board, as the Governor of PA was on the PSU BOT, and it was tough to discuss him without delving into politics. I've since expanded it a bit more to permit discussions of PA politicians if they have some impact on PSU. And there are many times where I regret even making those modifications to my original rule.

Politics, and to a lesser extent religion, are divisive. Most of those that post on this board have an interest in PSU wrestling. The majority that don't fall into that category have an interest in college wrestling. I prefer to spend my time on this board enjoying everyone's shared interest in wrestling. I'm pretty confident that most of those that post about wrestling also have thoughts on politics. I don't share my political thoughts with anyone on this board, and I really don't care to read the political views of any other members of the board community.

Sorry that I can not accommodate your request.

would be a lot of fun just depicting what they are not!!

Test Board is fun... go hang there for awhile... You will need a shower afterwards. I really enjoy this board. The people here really show their passion about wrestling in their posts. The knowledge of not just NCAA wrestling but all levels is impressive to say the least. The last thing this board needs is a politics thread. Every time I feel the idea of a political thread would be a good idea, I venture over to the test board and that takes care of that idea...

Living in a swing state (the ultimate swing state, some might say), I can't wait until November 9th when we actually start getting advertisements for PRODUCTS instead of people. (and I'm headed to South Dakota and Ohio the weekend before the election too...South Dakota a refuge from everything political...Ohio not so much)
