NCAA has ruled and given him 2 more years of eligibility...this saves the staff a portal spot that can now go to an extra position player, maybe, unless they decide to get a fg kicker.

I believe that you’re right, and that’s a shame because he was fairly reliable this season. A reliable fg kicker is such an important position, and often you never realize how important it is until you don’t have a good one.
I hope so because I’ve never seen a kid lose a job as fast as he did.

Actually that didn't happen until very late in that season. Seneca had to lose the Illinois game late that year before Joe finally pulled him and even then Joe put him back in against Indiana at home. Mills only started 3 games.
The Senneca famiky was sitting behind us in the Club Seat section for U. Tough to watch them watch their son get routed.
That was a great Cane team...but it was also evident Matt was in over his head. Staff had targeted Simms and missed.
