Robbie Gould

Saints hired Joe Brady who worked as a graduate assistant at Penn State as an offensive assistant. Saints also signed 2 Linebackers so not sure of the future for Mauti and Stupar for the Saints

Good for Robbie!

The Bears really disrespected him when they released him.....he deserved MUCH BETTER for as long and as well as he kicked for them.

What happened with the Giants--I thought he was doing pretty good there?

Didn't he miss two field goals against Iowa? 4-6 loss

He had a good career at PSU and with the Bears. May he have a good one with SAN Francisco!

He had a decent career at PSU, missed some big FGAs.....but he had a GREAT career with the Bears, kicking on one of the worst maintained natural surfaces in the NFL.

It surprised me how well he did in the Pros.....and was happy for him. Just goes to show you....you never know. Look at how well Wake did in the Pros.

how was he disrespected? It was a business move to get away from his contract. Bears are allowed to do that, right?

disrespected was the way Joe was fired.

He was quietly released late on a Sunday night a week before the season started after 11 years as arguably one of the best 2-3 kickers in the NFL over those 11 years. The club never thanked him publicly for his service, that's my issue with the Bears. The club saved money by downsizing to his successor but the contract dollars between him and his successor weren't that big. You can make business decisions while showing class.....the Bears did not do so re: Gould.

Holy shit, I actually agree with Nate.
The Bears F'd up when they gave him the big contract, and it was no dis to cut him and get rid of that bad deal.
