I like Van Ness at #5. Did Cael reveal his "plan" to Rokfin????I think some of our finishers may be higher as well.. Robbie not AA per prediction.. I think he can AA next year with a full year.. Kerk at 5... I see him top 3 next year... Couple others I could see moving up some..
Nice! Is the schedule out yet? 😊The good guys 130..... Iowa, 114.
Might as well start bitching about the slow traffic in the parking garages nowNice! Is the schedule out yet? 😊
Yanni at 149... or is that old news?Just some other interesting things I noticed in his projections. Again, this is not definitive like other people said.
133: Micic back for Michigan (ranked 3rd) behind Bravo-Young and Fix
141: No Rivera, I thought I heard he was planning to come back
149/57: Austin O'Connor up to 157
Shayne Van Ness #5 at 149
157: Brady Berge 7th
165:Griffith, Wentzel, Lewis, O'Toole, Marinelli, Wick, Karchla, Wittlake, Valencia (11), Lee (16)
174: No Kemerer, H. Hidlay (6th), Ethan Smith (7th)
184: Amine 2nd (dropping from 197)
197: Braxton Amos (WIS FR 5th), Beard 8th behind Norfleet and Schultz
285: Steveson, Parris, Cassioppi, Schultz, Kerkvliet
Are you saying Kennedy equals Kems point total in Detroit and gets 2nd?Lots of room to move up for both teams in this actually. Biggest revelation would be Kem not coming back. Hawks make some points up with Kennedy, but Starocci then becomes a very heavy favorite imo.
Good for him. He should be extremely proud of being a 4.0 student athlete. He has a bright future.
Don't forget that next year 125 will have Arujau and Glory back. Two more guys to get past.I think some of our finishers may be higher as well.. Robbie not AA per prediction.. I think he can AA next year with a full year.. Kerk at 5... I see him top 3 next year... Couple others I could see moving up some..
No I said he makes up some of the points. We didn't get to see much of him this year, but I think optimistically he could be a mid to low AA with a possibility to challenge for a title, but no expectation. I don't expect him to replicate Kem's finish or bonus from last year. Are you saying Kennedy equals Kems point total in Detroit and gets 2nd?
One thing to keep in mind is that Willie shared an NCAA suite with some people connected with the Iowa program.Willie said he is just going with the vibes. There's nothing definitive with Kemerer. He is not big on social media and posted yesterday for the first time but didn't say he was coming back which is why people are speculating that he's not.
Also - like I mentioned on the Wick thread, Willie said him transferring is fake news on the 165 preview.
Only if he shirts to recover from his injury -- and it's way too early to proclaim that.I don’t think Spencer returns next year..

No I’m serious, he’s going to have to get surgery at some point.
Iowa does a very good job of schmoozing and does a real nice job of bringing light to their program. One thing to keep in mind is that Willie shared an NCAA suite with some people connected with the Iowa program.
If he has surgery he could take his RS.The only way I can see that happening is if he makes the Olympic team and has to delay surgery for like August. Otherwise, he can probably be back by January (granted I'm not ACL expert) Spencer is not missing 2022 NCAAs.
Couldn't help myself there ...Iowa does a very good job of schmoozing and does a real nice job of bringing light to their program.
Psu on the other hand shows Iowa the lights.
Agreed. Also it's not his first rodeo with knee surgery or with college wrestling, he knows what to expect. The only way I can see that happening is if he makes the Olympic team and has to delay surgery for like August. Otherwise, he can probably be back by January (granted I'm not ACL expert) Spencer is not missing 2022 NCAAs.
I thought I had read him saying he is coming back.Only if he shirts to recover from his injury -- and it's way too early to proclaim that.
Beyond that ... the idea that Spencer Lee would pass up an opportunity to become a 4x NCAA champ is laughable. Despite what some people here have been pushing in the past week.
It's not bare but I don't see a final for Kennedy like Kem didDid not know that - thanks for sharing. Either way, cupboard wouldn't be bare behind Kemerer.

Kennedy was picked to AA so switching in Kemmerer would a plus 10? for Iowa. Joe Lee also ranked and Berge picked to AA, lots of room to move up or down on those predictionsOne thing I did note... Kemerer was not listed at 74... so not sure if Willie knows something or just assuming the grandpa is moving on..
And if he does then indeed return.. it would actually push Iowa ahead likely based on predictions...
He has to make the decision soon. He has his health to consider and Olympic trials to think about. Real question is Does he make a go at the trials/Olympics then surgery afterward? If that route then hes out for next NCAA season. He would get a med redshirt if he wanted to come back the year after. Or does he forego the trials and gets the surgery so hes ready for next season? No I’m serious, he’s going to have to get surgery at some point.
Yianni came back after ACL surgery following the NCAAs, without losing any time the next season (although he was hampered by one of those Iowa leg brace things for a while).Only if he shirts to recover from his injury -- and it's way too early to proclaim that.
It seems like he's passed up a number of opportunities to prioritize FS over Folk and has chosen Folk each time. And the nearer we get to a possible fourth title, the less it makes sense that he'd suddenly choose to prioritize FS.Only if he shirts to recover from his injury -- and it's way too early to proclaim that.

Well, Dr. Flo tried to give Willie a lobotomy.Listen to yesterday's Flo podcast. Outstanding segment on ACL injuries and wrestling. Pretty convincing surgery is not needed.

First match of the year he wrestled Labriola tough enough I caught myself thinking that after a year in Iowa's room he's going to beat Labriola. No I said he makes up some of the points. We didn't get to see much of him this year, but I think optimistically he could be a mid to low AA with a possibility to challenge for a title, but no expectation. Nobody knows what medical attention Spencer needs.... Whatever the path, Spencer's doctor will figure that out.
Already looking forward to the Starocci match. Kennedy always throws everything he has at you. Should be entertainging.First match of the year he wrestled Labriola tough enough I caught myself thinking that after a year in Iowa's room he's going to beat Labriola.
