its being discussed on FRL today that 4 misconducts could lead ADs to missing the post season.

they are saying this in relation to him having an issue at Ok State this weekend and the only "next match" would be big tens.

anybody got a rule book handy?

There is nothing in the rulebooks that I remember, and I sleep on them hoping, through osmosis, that all the info is absorbed ;):).

Seriously, I've looked before for consequences beyond those doled out at the dual...and there's nothing. The NCAA does provide language that allows schools and member conferences to develop their own guidelines/rules, but we're not privy to those. Here's a paragraph from the NCAA;

2.4 The Principle of Sportsmanship and Ethical Conduct. [*]
For intercollegiate athletics to promote the character development of participants, to enhance the integrity of higher education and to promote civility in society, student-athletes, coaches, and all others associated with these athletics programs and events should adhere to such fundamental values as respect, fairness, civility, honesty and responsibility. These values should be manifest not only in athletics participation, but also in the broad spectrum of activities affecting the athletics program. It is the responsibility of each institution to: (Adopted: 1/9/96)

(a) Establish policies for sportsmanship and ethical conduct in intercollegiate athletics consistent with the educational mission and goals of the institution; and
(b) Educate, on a continuing basis, all constituencies about the policies in Constitution 2.4-(a).

pretty sure football has something that if you get ejected you lose that game or the next game depending on the timing of the infraction.

maybe flo thinks that rule in football applies to wrestling? D1 bball and the PIAA in general have things like that too.

Obviously losing team points in a dual or tournament for bad behavior happens in D1 but Im unaware like roar has above that this could impact the post season, were it to happen again against Ok St.

Shame ADs even needs this bantered back and forth about himself. But if ADs gets his 4th violation it would mean that he has had an issue in 4 of 15 duals or 4 of 16 events total (15 duals and midlands) on the Iowa schedule. Then considering he already sat for one of those duals, the % of infractions against competition dates is rather high.

In football, if you get ejected in the 1st half you’re out for the second half. If you get ejected in the second half you’re out for the first half of your next game.

Maybe FRL is assuming the the Iowa/Brands penalty process is consistent and he is on a 0 tolerance leash at this point. Not saying he should be or not, but if Iowa had said that in some way or it is assumed, then if he gets another team point subtracted this week, the only place for Iowa to punish him is BIGs.

I would think it would have to be something damn serious for any coach to sit a wrestler for the post season. Which is why 0 tolerance rules are dangerous... if he loses a team point for "spiking" the headgear identical to the way RBY did last week, it would be a shame to see him lose post season for that.
