Says players safer at Bama than in general public. He is probably right.
Let them play!
Let them play!
I keep hearing from T Lawrence, Saban, and others, that the choice is between play FB and not being in college at all, being back where they came from. So, if there is no FB, none of these guys will even be on campus?Says players safer at Bama than in general public. He is probably right.

There’s a thing called online classes these days.I keep hearing from T Lawrence, Saban, and others, that the choice is between play FB and not being in college at all, being back where they came from. So, if there is no FB, none of these guys will even be on campus?
And here, I was assuming they were college students. Huh.
Not happening, so silly to consider. IfLet's say PSU enters the transfer portal like Nebby and IA and goes rogue for a year, would this 6 game schedule work for you? Games every other week:
Bama
A&M
Nebby
Iowa
Arizona State
BYU
Edit: The Big12 is allowing an OOC game, so through in OU/TX for a bonus game.
So why would any student return to campus? And why not have the FB players stay in the athletic dorms? The "danger at home" rap is not even close to convincing. They can stay at school. There’s a thing called online classes these days.

Big Ten folds, PSU goes with it.....end of story.
That would be interesting, but Wolf's quarantine might make it challenging to have that schedule.
Well that all may be true. However going "rogue" in August for a September season would require something more than brass balls. I would imagine there are millions of dollars tied up in agreements with networks and the Big Ten Conference........but it sure seems like an easy thing to do sitting in our kitchens....Sadly true. The people who would be responsible for Penn State going "rogue" for a season and playing a make-shift schedule would be Baron, Sandy and the BOT. Spineless, Brainless and Gutless.... That cabal of power is not letting Penn St go rogue.
Why screw around....why not just join the NFL?Let's say PSU enters the transfer portal like Nebby and IA and goes rogue for a year, would this 6 game schedule work for you? Games every other week:

If we are part of an "institution," be it a corporation, university etc. the ultimate decision makers are our legal counsel and our insurance carriers. It is the world we created and the one we now must live in. My Grandmother had a saying (Pa. Dutch) "you made your bed, now you must lie in it." I wish I had a dollar for every parent who threatened to sue.....and some who actually tried, during my career. I'll bet some of the posters bitching and moaning they want a season have sued someone at sometime......Agree. I totally understand. There are some major contracts. I understand we on this board are mostly talking "hypothetical". It takes months to negotiate TV deals & contracts. For example, let's say Penn State went "rogue" and we picked up 6-8 games vs. schools like West Virginia, BYU, Oklahoma, Texas and a few SEC schools (I believe we'd have to stay away from other rogue B1G schools like Nebraska). You'd still be talking about some major TV contracts standing in the way. Penn State - West Virginia sounds logical, until you realize that ABC/ESPN hold the TV rights to Penn State and FOX holds the TV rights to West Virginia, so how does that work.???
I know what you are saying. But bottom line is that EVEN IF the idea were floated around Penn State (like it maybe is at Nebraska), it would instantly be DOA at the desks of spineless, brainless & gutless.
I would think the danger is in the possibility that if there is no football, there is no incentive for the players to live in the bubble and follow the rules that their coaches might be able to create on campus. IMO, college students in general are probably going to be business as usual once they get back to school. If its too dangerous for football, its probably too dangerous to have students back on campus.I keep hearing from T Lawrence, Saban, and others, that the choice is between play FB and not being in college at all, being back where they came from. So, if there is no FB, none of these guys will even be on campus?

No fans = no home revenue anyhow. Play all road games. Play @ Bama, @ Georgia, @Texas, @ Iowa.... You do not have to play in PA. If Beaver Stadium is empty, not like you are generating "gate receipts".
Playing devil's advocate, its a lot cheaper to have a home game than to travel. A school bus ride to beaver stadium costs less than to jump on a charter to Nebraska and possibly an overnight stay. There may not be any incoming but there is a lot less outgoing with a home game.
I believe travel restrictions might be coming into play. For example, here are the states that PA has travel restrictions to:
- Alabama
- Arizona
- Arkansas
- California
- Florida
- Georgia
- Idaho
- Iowa
- Kansas
- Louisiana
- Mississippi
- Missouri
- Nebraska
- Nevada
- North Carolina
- North Dakota
- Oklahoma
- South Carolina
- Tennessee
- Texas
- Utah
- Wisconsin

Too bad New York isn't one of them that's where most of our cases come from.I believe travel restrictions might be coming into play. For example, here are the states that PA has travel restrictions to:

Go rogue? Those clowns can’t even stand up for the school in normal times! They will need to jump on Franklin’s back - a real leader!Sadly true. That is King Wolf, thank you very much!Calling it a travel restriction is a bit much. There is a recommended quarantine when you come back from those states. You aren't retricted from travel to them, and you aren't required to quarantine coming back. I know ya'll love to rip on the big, bad wolf, but no need to make up things to fit the narrative.

if you schedule Southern Columbia for 12 games you will likely win 11..safest path to the playoff?why play Alabama. There is a chance for a playoff birth. Join the B12 or ACC for one year and stay away from Georgia, Alabama and LSU. I would say B12 since the ACC has Trevor
