Has it been 5 years now? Progress report? Any work schedule for the Beaver Stadium renovation? Did she say we need to build a swimming pool first and has that been finished?

Other than some additional Lasch improvements and Panzer Stadium for lacrosse, pretty much nothing has been done. Oh, and they put down a new floor in Rec Hall.

We are coming up on 3 years since it was announced and I don’t believe anything has been done. I don’t think they’ve given any update either as to where things stand and fundraising status so far (at least not that I’ve seen).

The first 5 years were to include-

1. A center of excellence
2. Indoor practice facility
3. A 10 lane, 50 meter natatorium
4. A 10 court indoor tennis facility.
5. Renovation and upgrades to the soccer facility.

They needed $120 million to be raised for these first 5 projects to begin.

I would like to see some reporter that covers PSU actually do their job and ask Sandy where this stands. They spent a ton of money for an outside group to study the situation and make recommendations.

We might be better off getting a status update if someone pretending to be a ‘Michigan mom’ tweets Sandy and asks. ;)

Just to expand on your post a bit. IIRC the Plan was first announced at around the time of PSU's appearance in the Pinstripe Bowl i.e. late 2014. There was nothing more specific than it being a 20 year plan. Populous began work on work on the plan some time in 2015

so it has been a while.

This line sums up things nicely:

“We are pleased to have completed this master planning study and to share this aspirational 20-year road map for our physical infrastructure,” stated Sandy Barbour, Director of Athletics.

"Aspirational?" Hmm. Let's see. Pipe dream? Aspirational = "We see no logical, rational, clear path to achieve this goal."

ie: Par for the course, when a Department is being led by an idiotic DumbShit :) who couldn't find her own substantial ass with two hands, a map, and a flashlight.

Sandy's "Master Planning Process" is about as beneficial as having everyone around the meeting room table shit in their own hands...… and then start clapping with vigorous enthusiasm.

You get the picture :)

Dammit, Barry, lunch is not fully digested yet!

Over/under on which gets finished first: Sandy's master plan, or Frau Barron's Freeh review? Eh, nevermind.

Glad at least that the current football stadium design plans are not happening soon. The stadium needs modifications but I am not a fan of chopping up the sidelines with three tiers, especially when the top two tiers are very steep. The very top tier has quite a few rows that are as high as the jumbotron. Bottom tier looks like it has the existing slope of current sidelines. This is a "draft." Hope there is something better down the road.

Not that she has taken any credit for the lacrosse stadium but Sandy didn't have much to do with it. IIRC, the upgrade wasn't even included in the master plan. All thanks go to Panzer/Kaplan. As for the master plan, I hope there is another Pegula out there somewhere who is willing to pony up some cash. Otherwise the master plan is nothing more than a wish list.

I thought her plan was to sing an extension and then retire at end of that contract.
