Saquon

He's #2 for me, behind Kenny Pickett.

It's hard to think about how lethal of a force David Pollack was on the football field with what a suit wearing company man he is now. He and Herbsteit are low key ESPN's best analysts 2nd to Blackledge.

They both acknowledged that their reason for naming Saquon was because he was snubbed by the heisman.

Saquon was the best player of the decade but heisman is statistics driven award that often goes to teams in the championship conversation. Michigan State loss probably costed Saquon the heisman.

Guys... REMEMBER this is all part of Herbstreit and Pollock’s scheming plot to heap praise on PSU when the actually hate PSU in order to make Ohio State look better. All national media hates PSU so naturally they must be LIARS!!

That damn Herbie was an active conspirator in the keep PSU out# of the Rose Bowl Plot.

"ESPN and ALL of their people hate (fill in your team here)."
Same whining from all fan bases. Maybe more here than most.
True, but I bet we could show more concrete evidence of it being true than any other team.

Yeah he was. It constantly amazes me people don’t get his schtick. It’s so transparent. If you have yet to play O$U you are a great team who will be a true test for the Buckeyes. If you beat them, like 2016, he sits there in stunned silence for minutes at a time during the game and then the next day begins the drumbeat that it was a “fluky win which shouldn’t disqualify” his beloved Buckeyes from making the playoffs.

He doesn’t have a bias against PSU, he just roots for any scenario which will benefit his favorite team. Wisconsin making it into the BIG Championship game against O$U meant he had to felate Wisconsin for another week on the off chance they beat his boys.

It’s wonderful he recognizes it now, when every football fan with a functioning brain, recognizes Barkley is a transcendent talent. When he had a chance to comment and promote him when Barkley played for Penn State, what did he do? Hell, the schill promoted Penn State’s student section as “the best in the country” in 2016 and weeks after the Whiteout declared there were “other student sections which are better.”

I think he's one of the best in the business. Probably has been more pro PSU than Todd Blackledge.

And I bet every other team could show very similar “evidence”. All ESPN cares about are ratings. That is their job and that’s how it should be. All fans hang on every word about their team and look for anything could possibly offend them of seem like a slight.

But our history of screw jobs goes wayyy back before ESPN....no evidence shows that it’s changed.

An ESPN poll on player of the decade aired on January 1, 2020 will be relevant only as long as this thread is in play. The Heisman Trophy winner will be recognized long after everyone posting on this board is dead and gone!
