I'm surprised how many people on the board seem to be down on him. Like Ryan said earlier he's been hurt basically all year. He lives in the district that I teach and coach in, even though he goes to St. X. He didn't start tonight vs. Colerain because he's still banged up. Colerain is the #1 ranked team in the state of Ohio and the last time I looked were ranked #14 nationally. He came in after the first few drives as the backup went down and Clifford led St. X back from a 23-7 deficit to win in OT. I've read a lot where people think he's not fast and athletic. He rushed for 87 yards and a TD against a team full of D1 players most notably Amir Reip, heading to Ohio State. Clifford is an extremely accurate passer and a very smart player. He reminds me of a taller Trace but appears to have a more natural throwing motion.
Clifford went to grade school at CHCA a feeder school to Moeller and St. X and their varsity basketball coach who I know very well, said Clifford is the best athlete to come through CHCA in the last 15-20 years. One thing he did share with me is that as good as Sean is, his younger brother may even be better who is either a 7th or 8th grader this year and apparently already like 6-2 or 6-3 and a freak of an athlete. Clifford is also a great young man who is extremely respectful and well liked in our community. Two of his better friends are players on my basketball team who also play football and one was actually wanting to commit to Penn State but never ended up getting an offer, so he ended up committing to Nebraska and his twin brother committed to Iowa State.
I know a lot of you are really wanting Justin Fields who may be a really solid player but let's be happy with Clifford who is a very solid recruit and will fit in great in our current system under Joe Mo.
