Seated Ticket Holders on SRO Track

I am curious to know how many Rec Hall season ticket holders don't use their seats and instead occupy the track. As a SRO ticket buyer, my conversations on the track indicate there are a good many.

I understand a couple top reasons: 1) better view, and 2) bleachers are hard on their knees. Regardless, this causes me to wonder whether PSU attendance would be better, if they gave up their season tickets and just bought SROs, as I am forced to do.

Although I am not sure how PSU determines how many SROs to sell, if it is based on surveying bodies on the track then fewer will be able to an exciting PSU wrestling experience in Rec Hall.

I doubt PSU is likely to do anything about it, but I think technology could determine which Rec Hall seats remain unoccupied despite being used to enter the event. Those ticket holders could be encouraged to use their seats, or risk forfeiture of them.

A low tech solution would be to have a couple attendant controlled entrances to the track to limit it to SRO ticket holders until the dual starts. This could also reduce the mad dash to the track after the doors open.

In order for a season ticket holder to give up a bleacher in favor of an SRO, there would have to be SRO season tickets which there are none to my knowledge.

As to monitoring who isn’t using their seat and standing up or wandering around, I can’t imagine that discussion having a positive ending for anyone.

Damn, what is this “ Lets let ALL the cats out of the bag” week???

First Nick Lee, now my cushy railing spot is gonna be compromised. Some Christmas this is turnin out to be.

Whats next.. someone discovers C3’s hidden cameras in tOSU weightroom???

I honestly don’t think it’s all that many. There really arent many bad seats in Rec Hall.
Tickets are based strictly on them selling as many as they can legally sell. It’s an exact science. I doubt they are “surveying bodies”.
I have stood, but when I have, I have offered my seat to the ladies/elderly in the SRO section.

If you just go to Rec Hall you can buy a ticket outside or 2 if you want....I never miss a match....THE WHITE OUT IS A MATCH YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS....GREAT ATMOSPHERE...HOPE THE CROWD IS LOUD AND ALL OVER THE REF...CAEL TOLD THE NITT CLUB MEMBERS BEFORE THE ASU MATCH TO GET ON THE REF AND HAVE SOME FUN....MAKE THE OTHER TEAM NEVER WANT TO RETURN !!!!

More LIES. I doubt you EVER go to a match and you DEFINITELY reneged on you pledge to Wrestling For Life, which is reprehensible. You should be ashamed of yourself and your son (assuming he actually exists, which I doubt since everything you say is a lie) should also be ashamed of you

So, Rings is off your Christmas card list, i would guess??

After driving 3 hours, the last 30 minutes thru 18 red lights, I’ll gladly stand before driving 3 hours home.

I've always viewed tickets as having one purpose, to get you inside. After that, I go for the best seats, or often SRO that I can get, same with football. If you know how, you can usually get reasonably good seats in football, wrestling usually SRO....

I should take a tape measure to find out the WIDTH of the seats ...

I'm on the aisle, I usually get about half an ass cheek on the bleacher during the match ... rather annoying

atmosphere is great in Rec Hall, but I'd rather go to the BJC for wrestling ... my butt would get to use a seat!!! Rec Hall needs an overhaul

True, there are no SRO season tickets right now, but perhaps there could be. If one gave up their seated ticket, they would be left to the priority NLC then public first come first sale process. That's how I get mine and could've effectively got a season SRO ticket.

I sold a ticket for ASU and person never showed at the seat.... assuming went SRO route.

I had two SRO tickets for ASU, which I gave to my son and his gf when the wife and I bought other tickets from the ticket thread. My son was standing over the north concession stand and smelled hotdogs the entire time. The seats in front of us were empty so he abandoned his hot dog place by the rail to sit with us.

I have a seat I've never used. I stand on the rail. I "walk fast" to get my spot, usually right next to the camera. My neighbors on the rail... I've stood next to for years. I move too much during a match to sit still. Last year I introduced myself to the people on either side of my seat. They appreciate the extra room. My buddies sit two rows in front of me. I sometimes throw stuff at them. Love this time of year.
