I am curious to know how many Rec Hall season ticket holders don't use their seats and instead occupy the track. As a SRO ticket buyer, my conversations on the track indicate there are a good many.
I understand a couple top reasons: 1) better view, and 2) bleachers are hard on their knees. Regardless, this causes me to wonder whether PSU attendance would be better, if they gave up their season tickets and just bought SROs, as I am forced to do.
Although I am not sure how PSU determines how many SROs to sell, if it is based on surveying bodies on the track then fewer will be able to an exciting PSU wrestling experience in Rec Hall.
I doubt PSU is likely to do anything about it, but I think technology could determine which Rec Hall seats remain unoccupied despite being used to enter the event. Those ticket holders could be encouraged to use their seats, or risk forfeiture of them.
A low tech solution would be to have a couple attendant controlled entrances to the track to limit it to SRO ticket holders until the dual starts. This could also reduce the mad dash to the track after the doors open.
