Semper Fi...who is Joel Dublanko...PSU commit from IMG?

Top 300 linebacker from Aberdeen, WA who played at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL this past fall. Might grow into a DE. Outside of the Semper Fi site, I don't see any references to Penn State with him.

I see Vandy and Tennessee offers. He may have been on the early radar during CJF's time down there, may have been in contact with coaches as a result, and may have a wish to follow them to PSU. IOW, maybe the kid is pushing the idea.

Not for nuthin':

I don't know anything about this particular kid.....but we could use a "Inside the Box" LBer in this class.

Brown and Toney most certainly look like "space" players.....and the only "box" LBer in last years class was Cooper (who is - at least as of right now - still a bit undersized for that role).

Definitely a spot were there should be a target of getting one (or more) in this class...and the only other name I have heard who might fit that bill for PSU is Ferns.
But, even if Ferns signs on, they could make room for a second.

My guess is that whoever put the roster together just messed up.

Only other options are that he is walking on (doubtful, as he has several FBS offers including Ms St, UTenn and Vandy from the SEC, and WSU from his home state) or got an offer that nobody else knows about (also doubtful).

I'll go with a roster mishap!

That would be my guess as well. However, one never knows. We don't get a lot of kids from FL but I think we'd make room for a LB/DE if he was interested.

He's actually from Washington state.

He is...but he's finishing out his high school career in Bradenton:

I understand that, but when a kid spends most of his life in one place and then one year someplace else, I consider him to be "from" where he spent most of his life. It's not as if the rest of his family has permanently relocated to Florida.

OK...won't argue the point. many consider it to be from were ever his "last place" was. I don't really care.

Using that definition, every kid who plays football for Penn State is "from" Pennsylvania.

That's what they say when being introduced on the NFL! Plus, people that are army rats would be from "Germany". But whatevs...

I've never seen an NFL player introduced by state. College, even HS, but not state. Army brats move around a lot and are an exception so, as far as I'm concerned, they can pick where they're from. I'd be surprised if Dublanko says he's from Florida.
