The PR economy was bad before the hurricanes. The infrastructure was crumbling and they were hopelessly in debt. Should the U.S. government have bailed them out?
Should the U.S. pay to rebuild Puerto Rico's infrastructure now that it has been destroyed by hurricanes? If so, where does the money come from?
Puerto Rico citizens pay SS & Medicare taxes and they are eligible for those benefits. But they do not pay Federal Income taxes. Should federal support be more limited since they don't pay federal income taxes?
