Shaka Toney!

Agree. Don’t think anyone mentioned Thomas’ kickoff return after IU took the lead. Took the starch out of IU, unfortunate that they hung around after that. Did anyone else think Thomas stayed in bounds? Damn glad McSorley scored on the next play.
How was that TD run not reviewed? BIG ref crews blow. I thought all questionable scoring plays were reviewed

It look like he stayed in, but no replay? Shaka needs to gain another 20 lbs but he can rush the passer.

On the BTN’s late show last night he was considered one of the three stars of the day.

It was an absolute disgrace that the play wasn’t reviewed by the booth. In the absence of a review.....I think it might have been prudent for Franklin to challenge the call.

I posted last night that while Farmer had a brutal day, he made a fabulous open-field block that helped spring Thomas for the last 40+ yds and that should have resulted in the TD. Thomas stepping out (if he did step out) was an unforced error, there was no need to tightrope it at that point of the return.

IMO, couple of his plays were more coverage sacks.

I have never heard anyone suggest where the crossover is, so I will suggest more than 4 seconds and it’s a coverage sack. Thoughts.

Whatever .... but of the players rushing the QB he’s the one who got there. And yes, it’s a team game.

Special teams return game was also great yesterday. We also won the turnover battle.

I don't believe CJF can be too proud of the turnover issue, as PSU put the ball on the grass 3 times but was lucky enough to recover them all. And one of the fumbles was on an attempted catch of a punt which tempers my enthusiasm somewhat regarding the return game. But in fairness to Hamler (I believe it was him that muffed the punt) it was a windy day. I suspect CJF will continue to practice fielding punts as it gets windy in SC.

If he was ruled out on the field, then that's not a scoring play. I don't fault Franklin for not asking for a review. From the camera angle and distance it would have been impossible to overturn (i.e., see green to the right side of the foot). For plays like this the decision has to go to someone watching TV coverage, and that person would not have advised a review.

The play isn’t subject to review, once the official blew the whistle the play is dead.

Shaka 1 of 6 or 7 guys who got a helmet sticker on ESPN college football recap show.
I didn’t know that he was recognized in the post game show. Glad he was because he saved the game IMO. I guess they thought so too. In Oregon we say Boom Shaka Laka!!!

i think that Thomas stayed in bounds, and so did the announcers. i couldn't believe they didn't review the play.

BTW - J Thomas has show some flashes with the ball. i would like to see min with Myles in the backfield for power game.

That return was maybe the longest -- timewise -- I've ever seen. I know the guy can run but it looked the opposite. More importantly, he showed incredible vision and now has the 2 longest plays of the year. THAT is an amazing way to end your career at PSU! I hope to see more of him.

Something definitely changed in the 4th quarter. Up until that we had very little pressure on their QB. Then late in the game Toney (and others) were in his face.

In order to win these fourth quarter games, players need to step up and make plays. It did not happen vs OSU or MSU, but Toney made the needed plays against Indiana with the help of the secondary.

DEs had total of 6 sacks

This has been huge weakness sincesFranklin been here. Glad finally see some production.
Was Carl Nasib here when CJF was here??? How many sacks did Carl have his Senior year?

DEnds have not been the problem. They have been getting sacks and pressure most of the year. They are also getting better against the run. DT and LB vs the run is the main problem IMO.
