"Shorty" Hitchcock Memorial Classic

Just happy for the kids that are wrestling a short drive from State College.

This event is held on the campus of Millersville University, Pucillo Gymnasium. And it's on Saturday, for any that want to attend. Right now it's not a large number of PSU guys, maybe 3'ish, but can always change right up to stepping on the mat.

For those that want to follow remotely, I have not looked at the Flo, Track, or any other "dashboard"-like possibilities, nor streaming.

so......you guys are suggesting that Teasdale will wrestle in this open, then have plenty of time to get back to State College for his first dual meet.

I'm suggesting Cael is telling the truth and no final decision has been made yet.

No Manville, either. I thought that was why Pipher wrestled 165 last night.
spit balling here.... in the post match interview last night it was said that Cenzo might not go Sunday. If thats the case, then Manville is probably the guy to go against wick.

If Cenzo doesn’t go Sunday, it might get pretty uncomfortable for all the vocal anti-duckers around here—warranted or not.

I fully expect Cenzo to wrestle tomorrow. Lemon called this last week.

IF he didn’t go tomorrow it’s still not a “duck” since he didn’t wrestle Friday. If he wrestles Friday, didn’t get hurt and then skip Sunday, then you can call duck

Duck criteria 101. To be considered a duck, you have to wrestle, skip match against quality opponent, then wrestle next competition

Maybe also Pipher earned the right to be in the lineup when possible.

That said, bumping him up a weight to face the #2 guy in the country ... I'm sure he'd relish the challenge, but a full-sized 165 Manville makes more sense if Cenzo can't go.

If RBY was dinged up, I’d imagine he might miss Sunday too. Any guesses who goes in his place if so? Let the Teasdale speculation begin anew... (Yes, I know that if he has a redshirt to burn, that would be silly)

If Cenzo is having weight issues, makes one wonder how he makes it all weekend for nationals and also raises question of next year when both he and Mark are back. If he is struggling to hold 65 does he bump all the way to 84? Does Mark bump and Joseph go 74? And then what if Shakur gets a sixth year? Lots of questions....

In the Shorty,

Yes for Verk, No for Manville (having him ready for Sunday just in case?)

At 125 we have Lopez no Teasdale to be found wrestling attached or unattached

All done without knowing all the facts about wrestlers for other teams, or even our own. Whole thing makes no sense to me.

The idea of holding out a wrestler out to protect a seed will never be right, imo, but folks have made it personal, calling out kids and their coaches, judging and making presumptive comments without any facts.

Sorry to tell you this, but coaches duck. Whether you like it or not.

The criteria is fairly simple. Wrestle weak opponent, sit vs quality, opponent, come back next match. Those are factual things.

Cael doesn’t duck so what r u concerned about?

Well, if more "facts" were provided by coaches, there would be less presumptive comments. Pretty simple, really. That said, I get that coaches have no obligation to reveals these facts and that fans have no entitlement to receive said facts. Which pretty much puts us squarely in the current situation of having little factual information and the resulting presumptive comments; I think we just have to deal with it.

Even your post is presumptive. What exactly do you want to know that you don't, and feel you have the right to know? By "right to know", I'm referencing any FERPA or HIPAA stuff, for which the coaches, administrators, and others will always err on the side of privacy.

I consider my post no more presumptive than yours. If you read it more closely, I never indicated that fans have the "right to know" any information from the coaching staff. In fact, I said pretty much the opposite - that fans are not entitled to receive the information they might like, and that coaches are not obligated to reveal it.

Regarding the info fans would like to know, there is a bunch of it. Doesn't mean they should expect to receive it or are entitled to it. Again, same as in my previous post. My point remains, however, that if coaches were more forthright about why a wrestler is held out of a match, there would be fewer presumptive comments from fans. And again, I don't expect this to happen.

That is how I read it. Coaches have a right to team privacy, and fans have a right to complain about those rights on message boards. It is simple and it is fair.

That's a great one. Teas dropped out of the Shorty because RBY tweaked his knee, and we need him to go at 133 tomorrow. It's better than the current international man of mistery we have been having to deal with.

Truth be told I'm getting Teas fatigue and sick of the whole thing. how hard is it to throw a singlet on and wrestle somewhere anywhere attached unattached who gives a damn I think I'm resigned to we may never see this kid.
