Should all of Ohio St's coaches be on admin leave? According to the abused, they all knew.

At least it was common knowledge among their wives, it'd be pretty hard to say they didn't know. Perhaps the coach they brought in as OC last year was still in the dark, but the rest were around for at least one of the 9 documented domestics.

I would think that the AD and likely others in the administration knew as well but the further up you go the harder that gets to say with certainty.

But it is pretty clear the other coaches knew and protected the abuser just like Meyer. Oddly, only Meyer was placed on administrative leave. While the others with the same information are being treated differently. Seems this would set the university up for legal issues with Meyer.

Thoughts?

The Tosu football program should be shut down and burned down to the ground.

This is the story line I believe will be fascinating as this develops. Right now, reports are that the victim in all of this told the reporter that she texted and communicated with all of the other coaches' wives... and all of the coaches' wives knew. It's obvious Mrs. Meyer was well aware, so you gotta believe she also confided with other wives. These women spend a ton of time together.

The vultures will be out circling Columbus over the next weeks. They will not just be looking for Urban Meyer's blood, but also the blood of all of the OSU Assistant Coaches... the wives of these coaches will get hammered... their social media accounts will be scrutinized... It will be a very interesting story line.

>>> Think of this... Why did Gene Smith pick Jason Day as there acting coach?? many more qualified coaches on the staff. Kevin Wilson was the HC at Indiana. Schiano was HC at Rutgers and in the NFL ... Nope. Instead Gene Smith picked the newest guy on the staff who would logically have the least interaction with this Zach Smith guy.

I think you are correct on the selection. I also think it speaks to Ohio St's tiered response to this. The trial balloon is will the public be satisfied with a slap on the wrist to Urban. If not, he's gone. Will the public realize that all of the other coaches there were fully aware of the physical abuses and were just as culpable? If so, they have the new guy that they can keep on and claim no knowledge after a year. Will they need to jettison the whole staff to protect the admin and board? It's a tiered response and the more heat they get publically, I think the more we see the onion peeled.

Makes you wonder why Greg Schiano was over past as the head coach in waiting and gave it to someone who is brand-new the program maybe because he didn't know in the rest did

I would not be surprised if more incriminating evidence does not come out in the upcoming weeks. There is bound to be more details surfacing on what Meyer and OSU knew, and were strings pulled with the police involved.

Well, I guess it's time for LJ Sr to take his ball and go home since he wasn't named as acting head coach. After all, wasn't he named "assistant head coach" or something like that when he went to OSU?

One radio host in Columbus says a bunch of local newspapers have FOIA requests in to Ohio State for all of the text messages on the OSU phones for Urban Meyer and Zach Smith. We just getting started boys!

I believe it was in the last paragraph, maybe even last line, of the article yesterday - Smith saying something along the lines if I get fired I'm taking everyone at ohowIhate (my word, not his) down with me. This could get real interesting if he actually does have dirt to toss around.
@Delco Lion

Here's the direct quote from the article. And, yes, the last lines written. Kind of like a trump card played to make a final damning point.

“Zach once told me,” said Courtney, “if he ever got fired and this all comes out: ‘I’ll take everyone at Ohio State down with me.’ ”

I'm sure he got a hefty severance package with a non disclosure clause, but as mentioned above, text and emails from FOIA requests may open Pandora's Box.

Where is the NCAA? This cover up was presumably done to keep a current, active coach working to gain the Ohio State football team a competitive advantage. We lost scholarships, bowl games, and bowl money, and Sandusky was long gone by the time everyone supposedly knew. In other words, our alleged sins did not even help us win. Theirs did.

Calling Emmert?!?! Are you there?!?! I DEMAND Ohio State bowl money lost, scholarships lost, no postseason play for at least 4 years.

I admit that I've been scratching my head about the selection- and your theory makes perfect sense. If it's that bad (and it may be) they are going to have a worse time than anybody has yet realized.
