SIAP... Jahan's tweet

Yeah he should risk his health so middle age dudes sitting on their couch drinking beer can be entertained. This bowl game is one step up from the blue and white game. Big waste of time.
I don't believe the B/W game is a waste of time. I attend whenever the weather cooperates.

But then again, I'm an actual PSU football fan. Unlike some here.

And to those crying about PSU's opt out's making the game a give away, the newsflash is that Arkansas also has some of their top players opting out.

In the 2022 season, when Dotson also could have played, will those crying now still be crying? Remember, Dotson and Smith, and likely Brooks, all could have played in 2022. Does that make those games not worth watching? Why did the criers watch the first 12 games this past season, given that PSU could have been much better if Parsons would have played for PSU.

The "logic" here is illogical.....

Why risk his health at all? Why not quit earlier? I'm starting to dislike the product. So my wallet goes elsewhere.
Maybe Franklin can renegotiate a higher salary next year after going .500 again?

The logic is the product is getting worse so why should I bother?
I can do what I want with my time . You say fan, I say sucker.

Yeah, what a terrible decision these guys made playing in the Michigan St game. And the ones before that. So careless... could have gotten hurt!

Yep, all those that don't want to be suckers should use that logic for the 2022 season as well, as not having Dotson, Brooks and Smith will surely make "the product worse"...... Lots of other things to do for real PSU fans next Fall as well.....

Not every likes the changes . To me it's a waste of time and money. If you like go right ahead.

I understand the business point of view but do not agree. When you play football, there are risks. When you are a soldier in combat, there are risks. When you are a police officer, there are risks. But you still do your job. As far as I am concerned college football is changing dramatically and for the worse. If you do not want to take risks, don't play football.

IMO ESPN, in combination with the bowls, are probably going to have to provide insurance to the players based on their estimated draft position to help reduce the number of players opting out. If people don’t care to watch, ESPN doesn’t have a product to sell (viewers), then ESPN won’t have the money to pay out.

Football players do not belong in a comparison with military and law enforcement.

Dotson deserves plenty of slack on his departure and plenty of appreciation for what he accomplished at PSU. He played 4 seasons, and established a number of records. Easily could have declared for the NFL after his junior season

What key opt outs does Arkansas have besides their top WR? I hope quite a few because if not it looks like we could get a big time beat down.

I think there's a DL also not playing for them. Their board doesn't have any information on opt outs, but I did read there's 8 Razorback players in the portal.

Enjoy the show.
CFB has always been about players getting chances and developing (or not). Sometimes we forget about that. I'm not celebrating the direction or the speed the game as taken. This game is an earlier sneak peak into next year's team. I (still) will enjoy the game, probably for some different reasons.

It's always been about more than that, we both know it. Look how much they talk about loyalty etc. What I was sold in the mid 70s when I first watch the games isn't what's going on now.
They sold out for TV money . They probably had to if you want to be fair. Every game is televised. Every game is hyper analyzed .
It's just different. They don't care about the average guy and fan, they need the corporate dollars .

Their top WR Treylon Burks, who may get picked ahead of Dotson in the draft, as you mentioned.

And their top pass rusher, DE Tre Williams.

So it looks pretty even at WR an DL. Who knows if Arkansas is done with the opt outs.

From the second article, the Arkansas coach is looking at the need to play the young players as plus for next season, getting the young players more PT and contributing to their development:

“I think it’s going to help us in the long run,” Pittman said. “Certainly no one wanted what happened to happen, but it did. … I think because of whom I talked about, those guys will all be back next year, so I think it will be a nice little audition for them.”
