I think that Mahon and Cam Brown got into a scrap and maybe it went too far, both dressed but no playing time.
thanks for the info. IMO it depends when and where it happens (the fight) on the practice field, heck stuff happens. In the locker room, its a bigger deal, and if its at night someplace, even bigger deal. That's the rumor, and it makes sense. Fights happen on every team... I think 1 game out is the right move.
Franklin made a comment I believe in usual weekly practice interview something like yea, we even had a fight. That would seem to suggest it was at practice and he didn't appear concerned.thanks for the info. IMO it depends when and where it happens (the fight) on the practice field, heck stuff happens. ok but why would Mahon and Brown be in a position to fight. What I mean is, once the season starts the first and second O's normally dont go against anybody but the scout team, which would be at least the third string D, red shirts etc. I did not think Brown would be on the scout team, but who knows. Plus most scout teamers are smart enough to know not to fight with the first team, because relative to discipline, the scout teamer is going to lose (most times).Yeah he was clear that it was at practice and that it didn't bother him that much. He was talking at the same PC about how he wants the OL to get nastier. So ... he has to punish those guys, he can't be saying it's OK to fight at practice. But he wants OL to be nasty and aggressive.
Franklin just seems to handle all these things so well. His pattern is to talk softly and carry a big stick. He is 95% positive in his comments, he praises publicly and criticizes almost entirely in private. And when players get suspended, whcih is essentially what happened in this case, he says very little about it.
Franklin's messages about discipline are sent with action, not with words. It is very very clear if these guys break the rules, they don't play. So.... this team follows the rules.

Not doubting the story, just make you wonder how they got hooked up.
that made my morning, thanks.I heard Brown was not using tongs when going for a donut after practice, and Mahon called him out on it. (Those defensive guys are animals)
