Well, this brings me to where I draw the line. I know these statements are directed at Zach Smith and he absolutely deserves far worse.

But if this personal level of backlash hits buckeye fans, I'm torn. I'm ok with calling them the blackeyes. The institution has pretty much earned that with how they've handled things.

Most Ohio St fans are not the monsters that Zach Smith, Urban Meyer, and Gene Smith are, let alone their late doc, the diving coach, or the former band director. You can pretty much throw Kevin Wilson into this category as well. All horrible human beings. But the fans are blinded right now.

Hopefully some of their fans are beginning to understand how embarassing this all is for their school and they will want them to do the right thing and clean house. But I have a few buckeye friends and a neighbor who I am pretty sure are all disgusted by what's happened there and don't deserve the personal nature of the jabs that these people are landing on Zach Smith right now.

Fair game for Zach, Meyer, and the other enablers. Not fair game in my opinion for even those confused and torn buckeye fans.

Some would, some wouldn't. I would never have hired him in the first place after the way he ran that program at Florida, but many people thought he was the top guy out there.

totally agree. family court is a circus. I know of a ton of guys who have been falsely accused of all kinds of stuff. Check the divorce of Brad Pitt right now.

Regardless, there is plenty of evidence against Smith that has little to do with Courtney. And, it isn't about guilt or innocence, it is about the process used to consider Zack's ongoing employment. I am in agreement with those that think both CS and ZS are total a-holes. Doesn't matter. And its one thing if you are considering them for employment as a clerk in payables...it is another to be overpaid to represent the university in such a high profile public position. The reason why he gets paid $500k a year isn't because of the value he brings to being able to show kids how to run a route or come to tOSU, it is because those activities make the university a boatload of cash. When that cash is threatened, it is time to go.

Agree....and we can all have out opinion, the radio there's and the printed press their's. In the end, the tOSU BOT has to make a determination if this guy, Meyer, is worth the $7.5m/year given the PR damage he has done to the U. Smith, it was determined, isn't worth the $500k.

Meyer should have NEVER hired the guy from UF given what happened there. And, if he was, he should have had a no strike policy, which would have been done when Smith took high school coaches to a strip joint on a recruiting trip (a clear NCAA violation). How about having an affair with a staffer and taking photos of themselves at the Whitehouse?.

Done.....and we haven't even brought up his marriage.
