The 4-back rotation is absolutely maddening.
This is the big boy world of stocking a roster with talent. Kids transfer. 4* and even 5* kids. This is what happens when you have even better 4* or 5* kids ahead of them. There's no sense in splitting time this dramatically for the sake of preventing transfers.
Now, I'm not convinced that's entirely why they're doing it. Perhaps they genuinely haven't been able to settle on a top 2 or top 3. Perhaps the four really are neck-and-neck. But coaches have to make hard decisions like this. I cannot believe for the life of me that this 4-back approach is the most effective option for the football team writ large. But then, I'm not at practices and I don't see 99% of what goes on.[/QUOTE
It seems like 4 guys sharing reps in practice with the first team offense, would not be the best preparation to get the best outcome come game time.
