So Browns grab Terrel Pryor off waivers and move him to receiver

He has the athleticism but can he catch a pass going over the middle and take a big hit or will he get alligator arms?

The idiot tweeted videos of him running cincy plays at QB. Cincy is not happy. Pryor is just a moron. But an all-academic big team first team moron o_O

He is nothing but practice field material. The 4th string QB needs somebody to throw to and not necessarily catch the ball. When it comes to WR or possibly TE, I think he is going to look like Tarzan and play like Jane.

It seemed totally obvious to me when he was in college that this would be the best move for him. I recall a bowl game, I think when he was a freshman, where he was thrown a few jump balls in the end zone. On the Raiders would be stupid enough to draft him as a QB (although I think it was the supplemental draft).

Pryor was selected in the third round of the 2011 supplemental draft which means that the Raiders gave up their third round pick in the 2012 regular draft.

I think the Bengals and the Browns both have some affinity for ex-OSU players on the downside of their careers. I noticed Cincinnati signed AJ Hawk during the off-season after being nothing more than a pile-jumper the past couple years with the Packers.

It's a PR move to put behinds in the seats for the pre-season games.

I find this move to be baffling at this stage of his career, but then they are the Browns.

As a Browns fan, my thought is "how could he be any worse?" Honestly, when he played against PSU, he was a man among boys. Our guys constantly took bad routes because he didn't look like he was running fast. Love him or hate him, he's a hell of an athlete (had accepted a full ride to Pitt for Basketball before deciding to concentrate on football). At 6-4, 230 and running a 4.4 forty, if he can catch a football you've got to give him a shot.

I could be wrong, but I thought he was a known pile jumper as far back as his days at tOSU.

I don't think it's baffling since the alternative is to not play in the NFL again since his QB career has clearly run its course. The baffling thing is how it took him so long to switch. Even if he ends up making a successful transition that will be a few years less of making good WR money than he'll make compared to if he switched earlier.

I'm sorry, I wasn't referring to Pryor, I understand he wants to stay in the NFL, I was referring to the Browns signing him. It seems to me that there are much more accomplished receivers coming out of college who are already receiver trained.
