Whoa.
First, thought the call on the hit to Hammler was iffy. Looked like a football play to me although I could see other side of the argument. New rules, I guess. But the loss of Hammler hurt.
The kid from osu that went out with helmet to Hipp should have been ejected... period. Straight on H-H. No one in his way, time to change angles. He went at Hipp's helmet. Good riddance.
And the hit to Trace was also BS (23, I think). Kid had clear shot and hit him with the helmet. No idea how or if that affected Trace the rest of the way, but he did not look right when he got up. 23 needed to be gone. Again, this kind of thing does not belong.
JJ didn't miss the endzone catch... defender clearly got his hand in there and poked it away.
If it wasn't osu doing it to us, the play by Victor would be my fave play of the year. Just a wow for osu... we were so close on so many fronts from stopping it... they made it happen. All kudos to the bucks for that one. Tough to swallow but so well earned.
On the final play.
Oh my. I have no idea what anyone is watching but all I see is a sea of white on that side of the field (both before and during the play).. looks like all of ohio was in the backfield. I did see a couple of helpless blue jersey, including Sanders. Anyone seriously wants to say this play could have worked needs to sit down and slo-mo this one...not a chance in hell. Nice of Trace to back the coaches up, but this had no shot.
That said, it was a creative opportunity and one i think you won't see repeated.
Anyone who thought Haskins was the B1G POTW needs a concussion protocol. The best player on the field, and likely on the field in all stadiums this past Saturday, wore #9... and it was Penn state blue. What an amazing game the kid had.
Now i'm sad all over again. When do we clobber MSU?
