with maybe 5 spots ???? Does Parsons have a spot no mater when he chooses? Is Oweh waiting to see were other DEs go?

The real issue will be if another d-back jumps on board. I would think that the priorities are line players and that you fit Parsons in even if it comes on LOI day. You don't turn away a talent like that.

I would think Enis is already on board, so figure 4. But I also think that Scruggs jumps on board before the d-line players. So, it's 3 of the five before considering a surprise from a d-back.

My prediction is

Enis
Scruggs
Walker
Mustipher
Hawkins

My hope would be

Enis
Walker
Mustipher
Hawkins
Parsons

Your prediction likely puts both Oweh and Parsons in Columbus. You think so?

Dont forget three weeks or so ago Phil G said 3 players will transfer after this season and two-three will not use their final year of eligibility. Does that impact this #??

Not really, the max is 25 this year, with the potential to back count 1 and also Anderson-Butts may delay enrolling.... But how to get to 85 will be a combo of transfers, early outs, and ???

So without counting Anderson-Butts, which we really don't know what the story is on him, CJF could potentially take 6 more. Back counting 1 would lead to 7 more. But then CJF would still have to figure out how to get to 85. And he probably knows a good bit about where he can get to, but really may have to wait until after the season to confirm enough spots to take 1 or more in the late signing day......

I think some are coming in as volunteer Assistant ADs.
What?

Yeah, good, but perplexing problem to have. I'm sure CJF has a plan and has mapped out all the possibilities, and has a really good idea of who will say yes to lead to the most likely scenarios.
But it is driving me a little too nuts in the meantime.

If we get a decommit or two between now and December, I'd be disappointed. Unfortunately, that seems to be a consideration to keep in mind with the possible scenarios. Hope not, though.

Yes, but they may already be planning to use those slots to get to 25 or 26.

That was some of my question. Is Oweh waiting on Parsons? In short, if Parsons goes to OSU (they already have Cox), Oweh will go to PSU ?

My thoughts exactly. When Parsons commits to the Buckeyes, Oweh will commit to PSU, which will be a great pickup for the Lions.

Parsons and Fields are both takes regardless of availability. And I know some will say Fields isn't coming to PSU, but have to believe he has a spot.

I wonder if Franklin would take a commit from Walker. Scruggs looking more like a lock. Walker apparently was ready to commit, withdrew, and now appears to be looking around. Franklin did say he has or will be turning away 4*s.

Correct, because he isn't. That's why Levis is on-board.

I think Fields would have stayed "IF" Mc Sorley was a Senior. The depth chart is not so encouraging with the 4 guys we have. Actually, I think all four are "starter" capable. Fields "appears" to be good enough to start as a true freshman? Other schools can promise him that, kind of :)
