If they don't, they will have had a shot with the four most recent top records in NJ (Winston, Campolettano (admittedly a brief shot with him), Ashnault and Suriano) and gotten zero championships from them. If you were a top NJ recruit (or a top recruit from any state, really), would you want to go there? Of course, I guess Suriano did.

And way to go out on a limb about Suriano's likely finishes, considering he almost certainly would've finished top 4 as a true freshman if healthy. Therefore stagnation should get him top 4 every year. The bar for him should be at least 1 title. Or, if you'd rather, at least 2 finals.

I would think that applying for a waiver is almost part of the process. It seems like every coach would have the athlete apply bc you don't lose anything if it is denied. Observation... not a known fact...

Ok, until someone actually finishes at the top of the podium, it's not a shot at Rutgers, it's just stating a fact. Your guarantee of a championship for Suriano is not the same thing as a championship. Winston being hurt "most" of his career doesn't explain why he never placed. 8, 4, 6 for Ashnault is not progression. He *could* finish first this year, but with the torn labrum and the surgery, I don't you can feel confident about that. Campolattano not being revived at Rutgers still means he did not succeed there.

Rutgers has done much better with mid-level talent than top talent so far under Goodale. Do you dispute that?
