Dabo Swinney told Jackson Carman during his recruitment that Urban Meyer is on the back end of his career in terms of years left. “It wasn’t a major factor, but it was an underlying one,” Carman said.
Someone else can confirm but i think Carman may be the #1 recruit in Ohio. Also saw Meyer lost a QB to Mullen at Florida.
Have you looked at Urbs lately.... he looks like he has aged 20 years in the last 3 years.... perhaps that is because of my eyes.... but I don't think so.
Falling apart...or they had some decommits. Still an incredible class no matter what, but it's not bad seeing them feel some pain too.

Will still be a great class and I assume finish ahead of PSU. With that being said, the class, unlike PSU is not closing strong. The story is getting big press and certainly cant hurt PSU....lol Let Dabo and Urban slug it out in the press, while JF focuses on the Lions.

Our staff has done a phenomenal job but still have to respect that OSU is doing. We have considerably closed the gap with them on the field and now in recruiting but next challenge is sustaining it. Hauls like this for Franklin supported by 10 win seasons will keep PSU in contention long term.

OSU class is ranked #1 by rivals. Falling apart is a bit extreme.
Think kid exposed Dabo...who can"t be that happy with his recruits comment concerning Urban..however...this style of recruiting definitely seems to be a lot more popular...or abundant than the old days...these coaches careers are on the line...so are their paychecks...this is definitely SEC style recruiting tactics which many coaches use today as well...I mean I think everyone is guilty to some degree...I LOVE Franklin...but I'm sure he has given his shots to other coaches during the recruiting process as well...after all...he had to go up against ; 1) he was getting fired 2) he is leaving for another job 3) he is a used cars salesman 4) assistant Coaches don't like him...blah , blah , blah.....this did not come from recruits...this came from opposing coaches...
Opposing coaches used negative recruiting against Joe for the better part of 2 decades. He's too old, the game has passed him by, he's going to retire soon, etc.
Every coach has their positives and negatives. I don't see anything wrong with opposing coaches reminding recruits of the negatives as long as they are being truthful. The statements that you reference regarding Paterno were certainly true at some point in Paterno's career and were legitimate points to make to recruits who were considering PSU.
Don’t know why Dabo played the age card vs Urban....he had 31 better reasons to convince the kid.

The buckeyes national strategy takes a lot of $ to execute.
A potential drawback of hired mercenaries is a lack of loyalty and potential conflicts of interest. Urban knows how this ends.
The problem for them is that their class now is really unbalanced. Only one real OT, a plan B DE and a bunch of DTs. Would much rather have PSU's class. We checked all of the boxes even if we don't get Walker or Oweh which I think there is a good chance will happen making our class spectacular.
As much as I dislike OSU, They still have a good class and it will take a lot to beat them on the field. Having said that, we are really progressing well and will give OSU all it can handle going forward. I think it will be OSU-PSU in the future with meatchicken landing in third.
