I'm not a big supporter of people putting their "preferred pronouns" in their e-mails. It's a bit too much, IMHO. But here is one case where I think it might be appropriate. These two people have first names ("Shua" and "Raegan") that do not suggest a particular gender. If they are communicating with someone who does not know them, I can see that person being confused as to whether they are male or female, something which the pronoun thing clears up. Agree or disagree? Would it be preferable for them to include a sentence just below their e-mail signature block saying either "I am a dude" or "I am a woman?" I'm thinking this might be a good option for Hermy McFluffins.
