I suspect that 100% of the improvement can be explained by the difference in the two Michigan games.
 
Which brings up a question-how many fumbles did Barkley lose?

I think he lost one his freshman year against NW but I cannot remember another one.

He fumbled against maryland last year. I always remember it because it came on the play right after the hurdle play.
 
Barkley's ball security is just another detail that he pays attention to that makes him great. It is not a fluke that he never/rarely fumbles.

Will severely miss Barkley. Wonderful athlete and seeems to be a great man. Wouldn’t hate him for not suiting up in B/W for the bowl but would be selfishly sad to not see him play again haha
