Speaking of athletes

Quite remarkable. Injured his knee 7 days in too. Endurance running - one thing humans can pound their chests over in comparison to other creatures. Ah yes - next time I perspire profusely, I'll smile with pride.
As you probably know, he once ran 165 miles in 24 hours - and that isn't even a US record. The world record is 188.6 miles, held by a GREEK.

Next time somebody tells me pro golfers are athletes because they walk 6 miles a day with someone carrying their bags and so they deserve the millions they make, I will refer them to this.

I did not know that. That's astounding. 188.6 - almost 8 miles/hr for 24 hours? Wow.

Did you know that We have a notable running guru of our own?

Also, my neighbor growing up, Tom McGlynn, was a long distance runner for Penn State in the 1990's and then was an assistant coach for the "Nike Farm Team". He is now a running coach and consultant in Palo Alto CA. He went to Bishop McDevitt HS, who didn't have a track team, so he participated in track meets with Harrisburg HS. While he isn't famous, he worked hard to achieve what he has.
