Let me guess - there spewed forth a litany of excuses for why he’s only 18th on the list?Lol — that went over super well on GIA when you posted it.
I lost track early of all the reasons they claimed the “rankings” were illegitimate . . . as that itself — perceiving the list as rankings rather than actual stats — became the unintended punchline.Let me guess - there spewed forth a litany of excuses for why he’s only 18th on the list?
Some just looked where Gable was and used that to disregard the list. Others noted it's just sorted by total NCAA championship points, and used that to disregard the list as a suitable sole criterion for ranking to determine relative GOAT-itude. These two are related since the rules didn't allow Gable to complete as a Freshman and no such thing as a redshirt year existed in his day.Let me guess - there spewed forth a litany of excuses for why he’s only 18th on the list?
I'm interested in this said contract. If he loses in International Competition, does he or does he not have to wrestle in the Repechage?Has given up on his dream of Olympic gold and signed a 5 year contract with the HWC
They kind of have to tbh, he donated like what 3 million dollars to it? No matter how we feel about him, Iowa isn’t going to flip him the bird like that. Also I doubt they care he insults a program I’m sure Iowa admin equally hates, not appropriate but not like that makes him a criminal, just a scumbag.Just a question. What is your opinion of Bob Nicols? He is a big donor to your program. However he has launched numerous attacks against Cael with no proof. And now you guys are naming your room after him. All good with you?

In other words, Gable position faulty. Ergo, the list is bad. Thus, Spencer's position is in err.
That said, pity that Gable choked. Cael never didI really should've gave the list some disclaimers. Obviously Gable is near the top of the list. Some of those dudes have 0 sense of humor.
If you want to make them feel better, just remind them that when Carter and Aaron win their 4th next year, Spencer is out of the top 20.Let me guess - there spewed forth a litany of excuses for why he’s only 18th on the list?

It has really turned into a laugh factory. The data are fed into the machine, and you just sit back and watch the implosion.
Data make Hawkeye wrestling fans hate . . .Even data hates the hawks,
Welp. If you go by average score per year (so as not to punish the guys who couldn't wrestle 4 years due to the rules in effect when they wrestled), he fell out of the top 30 (maybe 40?).
