3. PENN STATE (1–0)
Previous ranking: 5
Last week: Beat Akron, 52–0
Next week: vs. Pittsburgh

The defending Big Ten champs did whatever they wanted in an easy thumping of Akron. Heisman candidate Saquon Barkley finished with 172 rushing yards and 54 receiving yards, while Trace McSorley passed for 280. Akron’s Nick Gasser got a workout, punting 11 times.

I'm kind of surprised to see PSU ranked #3 by anyone. I'm preparing myself to see the AP jump Michigan ahead of PSU today.

My prediction for the AP is

1. Alabama
2. Ohio State
3. Clemson
4. USC
5. Michigan
6. PSU

1. Oklahoma State is ranked way too high.
2. USC is ranked way too low.
3. Maryland at No. 17? That will be short lived.
4. Tennessee is not a Top 25 caliber team, no matter what that poll says.
5. Don't think PSU will jump FSU in today's AP Poll, but it's no big deal. It's early.

Vegas latest odds to win the national championship , OSU 5/1, Michigan 8/1, PSU 20/1.

PSU #4
Florida State #10
Yeah. I saw that. I was pretty surprised. Was listening to a couple of CFB talking heads shows yesterday, and both of them predicted a minimal drop by FSU. So much for the "experts." I wonder if the season ending injury to Francois played a part in the Seminoles' drop.

Dunno. When you posted that, I didn't see how an 0-1 team could stay Top 5.

Strange. PSU was 16/1 going into Saturday and after that 52-0 performance our odds stretched to 20/1?
Probably due to them thinking Michigan is going to be better than they originally thought, and of course we play them.

At home, whiteout, and bye week. I like our chances. Ohio State the week after is a different story although I think we match up pretty well against JT and company but tough to win back to back against two top 5 teams. If their DB's don't grow a few inches they'll have matchup problems with Gesicki and Juwan.
