I'm taking my family to spring training (Braves) in Orlando this weekend. Going on Friday for a 6pm game. I saw somewhere that the teams practiced in the morning (9:30am) and that you could attend practice with your game day ticket, but I haven't found much confirmation on that. Does anyone know about practice schedules for spring training on game days?

I recommend doing some research online. I have no idea why you would think anyone on this board would have an answer to this very specific question regarding a different sport for a team located in a city thousands of miles from State College with spring training being held in southern Florida.

The funny thing is someone will know.

This board knows what Romanian Restaurant to eat at in Cortland NY. The price to pay for a 2007 Mazda Miata with 11,000 miles and which hotel to stay at when traveling to Burgos Spain. Just watch.

Not every team is the same as some share complexes with other teams. (cardinals and Marlins come to mind) but yes you can watch stadium workouts sometimes.

Since I am a swell guy I decided to do some research for you. Below is a link to an ESPN site with info. It looks like they partner with ESPN for their spring training.

According to the season tickets section - I have bolded what looks like to be the most important info:

This is your chance to become an Atlanta Braves Spring Training season ticket holder for the upcoming 2019 season. Score excellent reserved seats to see baseball's best players and rising stars from the Braves and their opponents.

Season Ticket Holder Benefits:
  • Invitation to an exclusive season ticket holder event at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex
  • Opportunity to purchase additional single game tickets before they go on sale to the public (subject to availability)
  • General admission pass valid for Atlanta Braves practice sessions, excluding game days
  • Preferred parking option (subject to availability) – $90 for season
  • Exclusive season ticket holder stadium entrance
  • Savings off individual game ticket price
  • Manage your tickets online through Account Manager
  • Opportunity to purchase discounted On-Field Spectator Experience passes for select games

The spring home of the Atlanta Braves has the look of a big-league stadium, with the feel of a community ballpark. Champion® Stadium is the only double-decker spring training venue in the Grapefruit League.

Season Ticket Prices:
  • Lower Level Reserved – $624
  • Upper Level Reserved – $464
  • Bleacher Reserved – $464
  • 3rd Base Lawn General Admission – $304
  • Pennant Berm General Admission – $240

It does not look like you can attend the morning practice since it is a game day.

This board knows EVERYTHING, that is someone WILL be able to offer suggestions. As for me, living in FL I do attend spring training games but don't know about morning workouts. Go to the team website and check, phone the team ticket office, they may have an answer. Hopefully you have your tickets in advance. Everything for spring training games is more expensive, that is compared to a regular minor league game. Have fun, spring training games are just that, fun.

I got to see Acuña when he played in AAA ball a few years ago. He was the best young player I've ever seen at that level. I can't blame you for wanting to check out BP and such. Enjoy.

Is Lentz #10 sitting on the Pennant berm?

Right, asking somebody to do their own research screams douche bag because the Atlanta Braves spring training information is right on topic for this board.

And for the record I went and found the info OP was looking for by, you know, researching it.

Then you either don't spend much time on this board or you don't pay attention. Of course he could do some research himself but half the fun of this board is asking posters to share their knowledge and experiences. I've seen this happen a million times and the board rarely disappoints. Why get huffy about it?

Funny thing is, I have done a ton of research on the topic. But as this article from spring training connection.com points out “While the process of attending spring training games is well documented, information is scarce – to the point of being non-existent – about watching spring training practices.”. Your five minutes of research led you to what I believe to be an incorrect conclusion. On game days I believe you can attend practice with a ticket to that days game. But since information is scarce I thought I’d see if anyone on the board knew for sure because there are lots of baseball fans on here and lots of people that live in Florida.

I was given tickets to a Pirates spring training game last year, and went with my son who was nine. It included tickets to get in early and watch batting practice, as well as go onto the field and get autographs. Unfortunately, when we got there, they told us to go into the field you had to be 16 or older. Of course, I wasn’t going to go without my son, so we walked around the outfield and snagged a couple of home runs. Later on, we were able to get a number of autographs as the team warmed up down the third base line.

So in response to the OP, there was an additional ticket for batting practice for the Pirates, but not sure how they do it for the Braves.

IDK what to tell you if you think the information is incorrect then. Try calling them. That's from the spring training site.

I mean, given your response here I'm even less sure why you asked the question. You did research, found that information is scarce, asked here and when you got an answer your response is to tell the person their information is wrong.

With that being said I guess I'll just give you the answer you want us to give you instead of an answer that seems to be correct given the source.

So yes, you can absolutely attend the practice the morning of the game. My source here is you.

We went to Pirates spring training at Pirate City. We read online that practice was supposed to start at 9 am. When we got there, employees said they come out when they are ready. They finally showed at 10 30.
