Coach Franklin made news in his last press briefing when he said Nelson would eventually be the starter at right Tackle as soon as possibly next week (my interpretation). Said Nelson was possibly as talented a right Tackle as there is in college football (paraphrasing).

First of all, that's exciting to hear because if Nelson is that good, by extension it means our Oline this season may be the one of the best we've seen in years. Having two 5th year seniors anchoring the line with their leadership will be invaluable especially when a game inevitably comes down to crunch time, and they're needed big time.

But where does that leave Chasz Wright? He'll likely be the third Tackle off the bench, and back up Nelson, but next season he'll be a 5th year senior battling rising R-So Will Fries for a starting position. If Fries is as talented as we all believe (remember CJF almost burned his redshirt last season), and he wins a starting spot, where does that leave Wright?

Some may not know, but Wright went to prep school before he was redshirted so that would make Wright six years out of high school. Does Wright choose to graduate, and leave another schollie available, or would he choose to come back for a sixth year as a senior back-up? Does CJF give him the choice? Would this make it paramount that we sign Walker more now than ever.

I know the season is just starting, and a lot can happen from now until later, but its food for thought in the Den. What do you guys think?
