2 part thought...Steeler schedule looks incredibly tough to me. 2nd...who do they draft? Heard they brought a coupla wide-outs in for workouts. Could it be they will draft a wr thinking Antonio Brown may hold out? I for one would like to see them trade up to get Landon Colins...he would be Troy P's successor...you guys have some thoughts?

I think they have an incredibly difficult schedule to me it looks harder than either the Patriots and Seahawks and I'm not sure why.
I thought the schedules were determined by how you did the prior year?

I like your choice of Landon Colins but they need just as much help if not more at CB. ah hell they need help
all over the defense plus they need a TE.
INMO this is a very, very important draft for the Steelers both in short term and long term.
I just don't have the faith in Tomlin and company to pull it off.:(

I saw one mock draft...I think it was an ESPN mock...they had them taking a corner from Wake Forest. Tight End is huge...eventually Heath is gonna slow down. Maybe Jesse James in rd 5? I would love to see them take Hull in rd 4 or 5....he is gonna be a player, a 100 tackle guy. And since I think they go back to a lot of 4-3 looks with the new DC he would be a perfect fit...

There is a very simple formula for NFL schedules. You play 6 division games. You play an entire division from the other conference. Rotates every 4 years. You play an entire division in your own conference. Rotates every 3 years. There are only 2 games based on how you finish the year. If you come in 1st place, you play the two other teams that finished first in your conference. That's why you play New England and Indy. The fourth place teams play each other, the thirds play the other two thirds and the same with the 4th place finishers.

The Steelers had an easy schedule last year because they played the AFC South and NFC South. This year you play the AFC West and NFC West. Next year you'll play the AFC East and NFC East.

Magoo...have no idea what you are talking about...but I will fight to the death your right to confuse me!

Schedule looks very tough. I think they take a step backward this season as far as number of wins. Too many holes in the defense.
Most common opinion on who they will draft in the first round is a CB or OLB. They need a good defensive draft. They really could use the first three picks this year and the first three again next year to rebuild the defense.

Antonio Brown maybe the best receiver I have ever seen. However, when you have as many needs as the Steelers...you trade him if you can get 2 high round picks.

I think the Steelers have to go corner or Collins at S from Alabama should he fall all the way to #22.

Well....I actually like the Dupree pick...Collins from Bama and the kid from Utah are still available...they definitely should take 2 more defensive players....no offensive picks till rd 4 or 5 and one of them needs to be a tight end. Huermann from OSU or Jesse James...

Didn't know much about Dupree, but I like what I'm reading. What's up with Jarvis Jones, their #1 from 2013? Is he likely to be a good player? And it wouldn't hurt if Shazier could stay healthy.

Gotta be secondary picks today.

Yea not sure what's up with Jones. Maybe it was the system, it seemed to take most players a year or 2 to get comfortable with it.
Now that Labeau is gone I guess they will be returning to a 4-3 maybe that will help him.
Yes I think Shazier can be very good but like you said needs to stay healthy.

Both Shazier and Jones are having trouble staying healthy...I like the Dupree pick...23/12 sacks in the SEC..and he is 270

Didn't realize until I saw a note about this....they now have 4 #1 draft choices in the LB corps -- Timmons, Jones, Shazier, and Dupree. Certainly the potential is there for an improved pass rush and better coverage on short passes.

I could be wrong, but I thought Butler was going to run a 3-4 as well? Dupree is ideal if so.

You are probably right. I was just guessing that it would return to a 4-3 since I thought that was what Tomlin liked.
Is that your dog in the avatar?
If so he/she is beautiful.

Butler said he is gonna run whatever works...have no idea what that means but Dupree is definitely a 3-4 rush guy...

If they don't run a 3-4 as their base defense, everyone involved in personnel decisions should be fired - twice.

Actually, they'd be better served running a 3-6, as they have 4 ILBs and 0 CBs. I'm in favor of firing whoever is responsible for past drafts no matter what defense they run. The only chance they have against a competent QB is to have Ben toss 6 TDs (again).

Mel Blount announces Steeler 2nd rd pick tonite...he's probably better than any corner we have right now!

LOL, absolutely and I'll take Glen Edwards and Donnie Shell while we are at it. Hell throw in Derren Perry too.
All of them are better than anything the Steelers currently have.

Steelers should pick DBs with every pick left - hoping to land one that is decent. They are so weak at DB that they need to take drastic action.

They should draft D the rest of the way. Miller has another year... Love James, but I just don't know what to expect with him.

Love to see us get Amos.

Amos would be nice and I wouldn't mind seeing James as a Steeler but no earlier than round 5.
I think James will be gone before the 24th pick of round 5. If not would love to see Steelers pick him
