Steelers look to Rudolph to save Christmas

I keep rooting for the Steelers to finagle their way into the playoffs but every now and then I step back and say, why does it matter because they have no chance of going far in the playoffs anyway? The offense is just too anemic.

Anemic is too generous.
There is just zero offense. It is an accident when they do score.

Bell and Brown were somewhat a-holish, but them being gone makes me appreciate that they could play. And the same goes for Roethlisberger.

even though the 3 of them are gone, somehow this team is almost as close as they were the last couple years when they were there. they are a mystery team as the defense is still the same guys.

Really no chance now.

Actually, the defense is improved with young stars like Watt, Bush, and Fitzpatrick. A decent offense would make the Steelers one of the better teams in the league.

Duck gave Washington a chance on that third down play, it was a good throw just a great defensive play. Godwin catches that and wins it if he's on the receiving end

This is the life of the Eagles as well. They have scratched their way against the bottom of the barrel, for what? To win a division and get pounded on Wild Card weekend? Meh.

What happened to Rudolph? I wasn’t watching all of the game and saw Duck in at the end, even though he was pulled for Rudolph earlier.

Steelers went into this season not prepared for a season ending injury to an old QB. This is unacceptable...injuries happen. New Orleans lost Brees for a bunch of games and did not skip a beat.
Do the Saints have 3 guys recently acquired from other team's practice squads playing meaningful snaps at skilled positions because of injuries?

You mean the team that just got caught blatantly cheating? For a 3rd time.
Yes....I never wrote that they were honest....simply inferred that they win in spite of injuries. I'm not naive to believe the cheating made any difference in their results. Regardless of how you feel about them, they have the best coach, best wb and best organization in the business.

Can we fire the oc already. I mean if everyone’s is hurt then just take what the defense gives you. Every drive he has to throw the bomb which isn’t there. I just don’t get it. Like psu explosive play stupid theory. First down is an explosive play and offense was moving the ball several times. Each drive they had to throw it long and guess what. They lost to the jets. Lost to the bills all down the stretch just like last year and now we need luck to get into the playoff and we were in the driver seat since we beat most of the cruddy teams in the second half of the season. Is this 3 out of 4 years? We wait for someone else. Now we have to beat the ravens. Hopefully they sit everyone.

Note also, that the Eagles have 11 players on IR and still come through with a clutch win against a much better team than the Jets. Injuries are a part of the game. Good teams with goid coaching gut out wins regardless my friend.

Steelers did figure out on thing the need a QB and dont assume Ben will be anything after coming off shoulder surgery at his age.

Ok. And both teams are 8-7 and have a shot at the playoffs. So?

You ever think that's on the back up QB?

It's over....The Steelers will not win next week. And my point is this. The Steelers lack the coaching, the discipline and the mental fortitude to win a big game. Even against inferior competition. Thus has been the trend over the past couple years.

Tomlin won 8 games with a JV squad. I don’t think coaching was a issue this season. Injuries were.

Are you a Steeler fan?
