If Franklin is smart, he will clearly differentiate himself and Penn State from Harbaugh and any other coaches willing to dismiss long-standing commitments from recruits. This is something Penn State can use to its advantage. Make clear to recruits--formally if necessary--that when a commitment is accepted from a recruit, a letter of intent will be the ultimate result. Franklin and Penn State aren't going to dump a commit if a "better" recruit becomes available. This challenge from Harbaugh could be an opportunity.
