The people who compete in break dancing, like make it Redbull-level events, are physical freaks just like any other Olympic athlete in a sport where physical strength, agility and coordination are key component. They are also a hell of a lot more creative than, say, gymnastics.
That said, given the kind of counter-culture within break, surfing and other sports of that ilk, I'm genuinely surprised that an organizing body for those activities lobbied for them to be made part of the Olympic movement.

Probably an empty suit at NBC said we're paying you $1B and our focus groups say that's what the kids will watch.
I dislike a lot of the sports where it is subjective scoring - ice skating, snowboarding, etc., in the Olympics. I like the head to head competition as it takes away some of the judging corruptions... Not all as we know, but certainly makes it more apparent when someone gets ripped off. Break dancing will be just that - not taking anything away from their athletic prowess.
I thought I addressed that therein...Ummmm...Olympic Wrestling has had subjective scoring for years.
