Curious to see what CJF has as a back-up plan for this weekend should we get hammered with the season's first blizzard. Huge to have all of the big guns in the class on campus at one time but don't want to have all of those kids traveling in unsafe conditions. What to do?

Haven't looked since this afternoon but at that point they had already downgraded the impact on PA.

The plan is to get hem on campus and then have Snowmageddon keep them there for three or four days.

Since I posted about it yesterday morning, Friday has been downgraded and Saturday has been ramped up for Philly. Accumulations in State College at less than an inch Friday. Hopefully that means everyone can make it up there. Getting home Sunday maybe later than normal. The kids from Maryland are still going to have to leave early to make it from Baltimore. Everyone coming from the West should have no problem. It's also looking more likely that Dwumfour, Menet, and White shouldn't have a problem either. Definitely the worst impacted are the MD kids and they are all solid commits although it would help to have them there to recruit.

The Simmons family will be traveling up from MD on Friday

Yes, I said in my other post, yesterday, I doubt anything could stop him from getting to campus. If worse comes to worse maybe he could bring the other 3 with him if their families can't make the trip in the snow.

More importantly, will Urban fake another heart attack to get out of shoveling????

These are the types of questions the people need answered!!!!!

Unfortunately, the winter storm is predicted to drop a foot by Saturday night. How are the recruits going to get in?

The storm will be worse in MD/DC area, and more Saturday than Friday. I think most everyone who wants to come (may have to leave early on Friday) will be able to make it to SC before snow is an issue. Then, the roads should be cleaned up in time for their return home on Sunday.

I find that (potentially) big winter storms like this bring lots of energy with them... think about the beautiful snow covered campus and the occasional snow ball battle. They certainly won't have to shovel any of it and the buses will still be running. If a recruit was not relishing the idea of playing football where it gets cold and snowy in November, then this weekend may turn them off. If this doesn't scare them, however, I think that this will be a great weekend for the recruits to bond together and form relationships with the coaches.

Good point.

The same storm just went through Nashville, TN. I was driving to work to Springfield this morning in 1/4" of ice and and an inch of snow.

Weather channel with a very moderated forecast for PA today. very little snow Friday and Saturday 1-3 inches in Pittsburgh and PSU. Everyone should make it.

Snow angels on Beaver Stadium field would be a fun recruiting activity! Perhaps a few snowmen or snow people making competition to be politically correct.
